What a fantastic afternoon we had, a delicious afternoon tea with a few cocktails. Your staff were most attentive and we cannot wait to come back!
Would definitely recommend we had afternoon tea & cocktails was lovely
It was a lovely end to our day & service was fantastic. The tables that have stools and backed stools need to be a little larger as it was a squash to fit 4 people around plus 2 afternoon tea stands & all our teapots etc. This did not take anything away from our experience. Many thanks
Amazing place fab cocktails
I visited on Saturday as a group of 10, drinks package pre booked for our hen party. The place was recommended to me by a friend so I was very much looking forward to the event. Sadly who ever was leading / managing the team of staff on Saturday really let the place down. We arrived on time, and were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to the booth. Drinks arrived and it started well. It was a warm day and the booth soon became hot with 10 of us in there. After an hour we asked if we could move outside to make the most of the weather - a lovely waiter who had been looking after us started to arrange a couple of tables outside which were free, to be told by his senior that we weren't allowed to move outside. He had to appologise and moved us back inside and arranged some high stools around the bar / window area. I've no idea why paying customers would be stopped from moving outside? Minor blip, but unfortunately it didn't stop there. We later asked if we could order some food - sandwiches from the menu. The waiter behind the bar looked at his watch, and said he would have to ask the manager, it was 3.30pm and sandwiches are advertised from 12-5pm. The manager was obviously not impressed at our request and another waitress arrived with a plate of afternoon tea sandwiches - one finger / slice each. Not really substantial or what we wanted, we asked for another one (still hungry) another one arrived. We were charged £10 for each of these plates of sandwiches - your sandwich menu is around £6 per meal and looked substantially more filling / appealing than what was presented to us without choice. I then noticed a group being shown into the booth we had booked. No one had checked with us if we would be using the booth again - we weren't, and it absolutely wouldn't have been a problem for others to use it, but still we weren't asked and it was still within the 3 hours we had reserved it for. So we can't move to sit outside but it's ok for you to show other customers into the area we had reserved and paid for?? For the £38 per head we paid for the package I was overall really disappointed. The cocktails are priced around £9-10 each, plus two glasses of prosecco and some nibbles (crisps/olives) doesn't add up to £38. I appreciate the extra money is for the private area / service and overall experience and I'm happy to pay for this but we certainly didn't get this on Saturday. The staff in general were really lovely - in particular a waitress with short reddish hair - spoke with an accent. It was the leadership on the day which sadly let you down. We ended up leaving before the 3 hours we had booked the booth out for. A simple more positive approach from the manager would have really changed the whole afternoon for us. The atmosphere and overall vibe in the place is great and I really am sorry to be sending such a negative review. But for a hen party - something you remember for ever, we were sadly let down.
