Pizza is just one of those foods that if you want it, you’ve got to have it! And fortunately for you, Manchester is home to pretty amazing pizza restaurants. We’ve hunted the whole city and listed the five best pizzas in Manchester, and whether you’re in the mood for a sourdough pizza base or a traditional Neapolitan pizza, we’ve got you covered. Come on, get a slice of the action!

Don Giovanni

Italian, Fine Dining, Pizza, Fish, Pasta, Steak, Cocktails

“At Don Giovanni we integrate traditional Italian culture into every dish we create, making all of our own pizza, bread, ravioli, and desserts freshly in-house.” Don Giovanni is Manchester’s oldest Italian restaurant, established in 1984. Located on Oxford Street, in the heart of the city centre, these guys serve salads, antipasti, fishes, pastas and risotto, meats, and awesome pizzas. We’re personally obsessed with the prosciutto e funghi pizza, and if you like mushroom, you’ll be obsessed too!

Home

They say home is where the heart is. I think home is where the good pizza is. HOME is Manchester’s centre for contemporary theatre, film, art, and music. They’ve got lots of shows and movies on, live concerts, and some of the best pizzas in Manchester. From quattro formaggi and florentina to four seasons and la reine, they’ve got all sorts of delicious pizza cooked with an English influence. Head for lunch or dinner before a movie or a show, or just grab a drink on their roof terrace for all those sunny Manchester days. Home is one of Manchester’s best institutions and one you don’t want to miss out!

Sardus

Italian, Pizza, Pasta, Seafood, Steak, Wine Bar

This one’s a traditional Sardinian restaurant offering regional dishes based around the Mediterranean cuisine, and amazing pizzas. Try their signature pizza SARDVS, it’s made with mozzarella, tomatoes, Sardinian sausages, olive and pecorino cheese, simply yummy! If your friend/date/brother is not in the mood for pizza (how dare he), there are plenty of other Sardinian delicacies, different fishes, meats, pasta, and more. It’s located within walking distance from lively bars of Altrincham, and it’s doubtless one our top spot for the best pizzas in Manchester.

Tre Ciccio

Keep on with your Italian trip and travel to Naples. Tre Ciccio serves up a huge meny of classic, gourmet, and Neapolitan pizzas alongside Italian roast chicken and traditional antipasti dishes. It’s located in the charming Bramhall neighbourhood, a quick 40 minutes ride from the city centre, and trust us, it’s so worth it! The venue is decorated like a classic Italian restaurant, all brick walls, low lighting, and a warm atmosphere. Little tip: try the calzone Napoletano, it’s a folded pizza with salami, prosciutto cotto, fior di latte cheese, and basil – a real delight.

Black Dog Ballroom

American, Pizza, Burger Joint, Diner, Vegan

Get a taste of New York’s best pizzas at Black Dog. This very cool and trendy bar serves awesome plates like burgers, sandwiches, fries, as well as yummy pizzas “made the American way”. From funghi and chilli-cheese to cheeseburger and hot dog pizza, you’ll be sure to satisfy your carbs cravings. They have two locations, one in the Northern Quarter underneath the famous Affleck’s Palace, and one in New Wakefield street. Don’t wait any longer and book your spot with ResDiary!
