Ever wanted to just skip straight to the dessert just in case something awful happens and you miss out? We get that. Forget what your parents taught you, we’re not bothered if you don’t finish your main and skip straight to the good stuff. The English capital is full of amazing pastries, cakes, and other delicacies. So here it is, dear readers, our top spots for the best desserts in London.
Hard Rock Cafe
Located on the corner of Oxford Street and Park Lane is Hard Rock Café, a spot you probably know for their American-style food, or their iconic venues where legends of music once came to play. But did you know these guys have one of the finest desserts in town? And if you’re a sweet tooth, then this spot should definitely be on top of your list! Try their crunchy Oreo cheesecake, their hot fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream or their famous classic diner-style milkshake. We have a crush on their homemade apple-cobbler. Think juicy apples mixed with fine spices and baked until golden brown. It’s served warm, with vanilla ice cream and topped with walnuts and caramel sauce. In other terms, heaven on a plate.
Voted best coffee place in 2018 by the magazine Time Out, Louie Louie is one of the top spot for best desserts in London. And if you’re a cake fan, then you surely don’t want to miss on this one. Their Brazilian pastry chef, Michel Scherer, makes all their cakes and they simply became i-c-o-n-i-c. Chocolate cake, carrot cake, red fruit cake, they’ve got all the cakes and flavours you could ever ask for. On the weekends, DJs come to make you enjoy your visit at Louie Louie. Tasty cake and good music, what else do you need?
Frenchie Covent Garden
Frenchie Covent Garden is the new hot spot in town for Frenchie vibes and food. The menu echoes chef Greg’s Parisian counterpart with simple, yet precise dishes. Now, it might not be the best dessert place in town in terms of diversity, but it’s got the incredible vanilla mille-feuille, and that, my friend, is one of the best dessert in London. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s made up with three layers of puff pastry, two layers of “crème patissière”, and a delicious strawberry ice cream. Un vrai délice!
London’s restaurant scene today is simply iconic and extremely diverse, so if you’re not a big fan of cakes, pastries or ice cream (what’s wrong with you???), try something a little different. Yum Sa is a modern Asian restaurant with strong Thaï influences, and their menu features a yummy selection of traditional desserts like kaffir lime crème brulée, mango rice pudding, chocolate banana, and more. It’s cool, it’s good, and it’s different. Wait no longer and book your spot at Yum(my) Sa!
God bless the Italians. I mean, they’ve created the best plates AND the best desserts. So, when looking for the best desserts in London, we recommend a stop at Guste REMO. From perre ricotta and Neapolitan pastiera to tiramisu and affogato al caffe, you’ll get to taste the best delicacies coming from all parts of Italy. You need to try the Nutella cheesecake… I mean, do we even need to describe it? It’s two words that, read out loud, make music to our ears. And foodgasm to our mouths. Owner Marco’s philosophy: “We want to offer every-day Italian cuisine that allow our customers to appreciate the healthy nature of Italian ingredients without worrying about a visit to the gym the following day”. Yummy desserts and not having to go to the gym? I am all in!
The name already says it all! Delicatessen’s menu is inspired by rich Middle Eastern culinary culture and it travels from subtle, delicate flavours to bold, colourful bites. If you know Middle Eastern desserts, then you’ve got an idea of what heaven looks like. And if you don’t, well… Your second life begins now. Expect malabi with rose petals and saffron syrup, hawaij with dark chocolate and tahini ice cream, or kadaif with strawberry and cream tower. Feeling hungry?
