They've made it!

The Michelin Awards 2019 Ceremony took place on October 1st in London. The restaurants that have made this year’s UK and Ireland guide have been announced and we are super excited! Many restaurants secured their impressive two or one star, but the evening proved to be a crazy turnout for restaurants with many picking up their first star. Yay! To support them, we’ve decided to create a list of our favourite restaurants that got their first Michelin star, have a look!

Olive Tree, Bath

By entering the Michelin Star 2019 Guide, this little gem is the first Michelin star restaurant in Bath (yas!). Run by husband and wife Laurence & Helen, this place serves sophisticated and modern British food in a stylish and slightly eccentric venue. We love it!

Rogan & Co, Cartmel

Rogan & Co is a chilled-out neighborhood restaurant in the magical village of Cartmel. Chef Simon Rogan brings his distinctive own culinary style using amazing Cumbrian ingredients, accompanied by international tasty wines. Yum!

White Swan, Lancashire

This small local pub serves simple but tasty accomplished dishes based on fresh and seasonal produce. But really the best part is that they offer real Timothy Taylor ales. At White Swan, “It will be love at first sight, smell and flavours” like the owner said.

Salt, Stratford-upon-Avon

This little gem has been opened for only 18 months, yet it’s already received its first Michelin star, pretty impressive! Salt is a fine dining restaurant, run by husband and wife Paul and Rihain Foster, serving good British dishes in an original venue. Sweet!

Winteringham Fields, Winteringham

People travel great distances to get here but the food never does. Using only local and fresh ingredients, Colin McGurran and his masterful chefs renew their menu a few times a year to offer the best seasonal dishes, and we love it!

Brat, Shoreditch

Located in East London, this super cool restaurant is inspired by the chef’s many trips to the pintxos bars. Here, whole fish and chopes of beef are cooked over charcoal featuring an open wood fire grill. A delish authentic Basque gem!

Bulrush, Bristol

Chef and proprietor George trained in the Academy of Culinary Arts before working in several prestigious restaurants and finally opening his own in Cotham. This innovative neighborhood restaurant serves modern British and their wine selection is pretty “uhmazing”.

Restaurant Chestnut,

Run by award winning Irish chef, Rob Krawczyk, this intimate restaurant is set in a former character filled pub in Ballydehob. The menu inspired by nature “will be an ever evolving menu designed around the best of seasonal ingredients”. This one is one of our favourite and the Michelin star was definitely well-deserved.
