We'll sort you out

Is there a better day of the week than Sunday? You wake up late, maybe go for a walk, eat some food, then slob in front of the telly battling the mild dread of work tomorrow and the remnants of The Fear from last night. We all know that a Sunday’s not a Sunday without a big lunch/dinner-ey thing though. Which is why we’ve put together a list of the best Sunday roasts in Liverpool to really top off that great day.

Hanover Street Social

With not one, not two, but three traditional roasts to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice this Sunday lunch. From roast topside of beef, to marmalade and honey roasted gammon to chicken supreme, you won’t go hungry. Plus, every roast comes with a Yorkshire pudding. If traditional Sunday roast doesn’t float your boat, not to worry, there’s a whole heap of other things to choose from, gnocchi in chive cream, a classic cheeseburger, or a lovely cosy plate of fish and chips. Can we also just let you know they do a Sticky date pudding with toffee sauce and ice cream. Book already!

Viva Brazil

Want something a bit different for your sunday roast? Viva Brazil do meaty goodness really well. Order the Full Rodizio for your Sunday lunch and you won’t be disappointed. You get 14 different cuts of BBQ meats and an unlimited salad bar. We’re not going to name all the meats, but highlights include the parmesan pork, brazilian sausage, rump steak, and gammon of pineapple (yes, pineapple!). Once you’re seated, their troop of passadors (meat carvers) move between tables offering the finest cuts this side of the Amazon river, all expertly carved at the table. A dining experience that dates back hundreds of years to when the Brazilian cowboys roamed South America, it’ll be a Sunday Roast you’ll never forget. So don’t forget to book!

60 Hope Street

“The most fabulous way to spend a Sunday” say 60 Hope Street is with them enjoying a 2 course Sunday Roast for £18 (which includes a large Yorkshire pudding and a delicious dessert). A stylish eatery located in the Georgian quarter, and housed in a beautiful Georgian building, it’s the perfect place to relax on a Sunday with the paper whilst drinking a martini. Ideal situation, right? The interior isn’t fussy, it’s relaxed and classy, if it wasn’t a restaurant, we’d want to live in it.

The Monro

There’s nowhere better to enjoy a great Sunday roast in Liverpool than in a traditional pub. Which is why we’ve brought you to The Monro. Think roaring fires, great beers, and tasty pub grub and you’ve got the right idea. We can’t tell you what they’ll be serving this Sunday because the menu changes regularly but you can be sure that whatever it is will be cooked to perfection and sourced as locally as possible. There’s always a great choice though with warming starters like soups and chicken wings, and at least three roasts, one of which is veggie. Get a wiggle on!

Maray

Small plates, Vegetarian-Friendly

On the Sunday Roast menu at Maray is the following: Cumbrian salt-aged ham, Cumbrian salt-aged beef sirloin, Goosnargh corn-fed chicken, and for the veggies there’s a butternut squash & pistachio nut roast. They roast their potatoes in duck fat, and if you’ve ever toasted a tattie this way, there’s no going back. If it’s a bank holiday, you’ve got the Monday off, or you just fancy a mad one, order one of their house cocktails with brunch. You can choose between a Shandy Pȇche, a Bloody Mary, and an S.O.S, all priced at £5. If the sound of this tickles your fancy, hurry up and book.
