The Gannet

The Gannet is an award-winning Scottish independent bar and restaurant in the heart of the ‘hippest place in the UK’, Finnieston, in Glasgow. Their menus celebrate the best of Scottish produce, dictated by the rhythms of the British seasons in a stripped back and relaxed setting. They opened in the Autumn of 2013, and the awards came rolling in, and soon they received three AA Rosette’s after having been reviews in The Guardian, The Scotsman, and The Sunday Herald. Their tasting menu is usually 6 courses and changes with the seasons. Expect scallops, delicious Scottish fish and venison, choose the wine pairings for an extra touch of indulgence.

Six by Nico

Six by Nico is home to a series of carefully curated and constantly evolving restaurant concepts. Nico and his team serve a brand new six-course tasting-menu every six weeks, each one themed upon a different place or memory. Previous themes have been childhood, Mexico, the 70’s, and the chippie. Whenever you go, expect to experience something different. Hurry and book as bookings fill up fast.

Cail Bruich

This stylish restaurant and bar is situated in the heart of Glasgow’s vibrant West End, and offers casual, modern Scottish dining with a carefully selected drinks list. Their tasting menu must be ordered by the entire table and is perfect for long, relaxed dinners, with dishes given just by ingredient names, such as “flamed mackerel, white beetroot, grape, horseradish”. With 3 AA Rosettes to their name, they’re a pretty big deal. They’ve also recently just had a makeover, and the interiors look stunning, perfect for your next meal out, complete with a new Instagram post.

Brian Maule at Le Chardon d’Or

Entering it’s 18th year in Glasgow’s city centre restaurant scene. Brian Maule’s restaurant, Le Chardon d’Or, is certainly not resting on its laurels. If you’re looking for one of the best tasting menus in Glasgow, this is where you’ll find it. The Celebration Menu gives diners the chance to taste dishes that are only usually available on their A La Carte Menu, including the “fillet of lamb, charred onion, pomme boulangere, and rosemary sauce”. If you haven’t tried this place already, you need to go.
