Chaakoo Bombay

Iranian, Persian, Indian, Vegetarian Friendly

At Chaakoo, be ready to travel back in time and experience the flavours, smells, and atmosphere of a classic 19th century Iranian cafe. Specialising in Persian and Irani cuisine with an obvious Indian influence, Chaakoo offers yummy options for those of you who’ve decided to spare those sweet animals. From tandoori chaat kebab and saag paneer curry to daal makhani curry and sabjee, expect the best of meat-free Irani dishes.

Ox and Finch

Small Plates, Fine Dining, Scottish, Vegetarian Friendly

Located in the lovely Kelvingrove neighbourhood, Ox and Finch are true masters in catering to dietary requirements. They’ve come up with a entire vegetarian menu, a vegan menu, and an allergen information sheet for each and every dish. Expect Scottish and international contemporary dishes such as oyster mushroom, halloumi with wheat and abricots, or roast potatoes with smoked cranberry ketchup. This spot has been awarded a “Bib Gourmand” in the Michelin Guide for the past five years and, as far as we’re concerned, it’s one of our favourite vegetarian restaurants in Glasgow.

Black Sheep

This family owned restaurant is one of Glasgow’s favourites. Located on a cobblestone residential street at St George’s Cross, these guys prepare fantastic Scottish food, and even more fantastic veggie options. Expect lentil soups, goats cheese salad, macaroni cheese with chips, and garlic bread and salad. If that didn’t sound amazing to you, yer aff yer heid!

Topolabamba

All the veggies out there know how Mexican food has he best meat-free dishes. And in terms of Mexican food in Glasgow, it doesn’t come better than Topolabamba. You know it, we know it, everybody knows it so we’re not going to introduce it again. However, we should specify that their vegetarian dishes are pretty awesome. From char toasted vegetable tacos and guacamole black bean tostada to poblano chilli taquito and jalapeno poppers, you’re in for a noche loca. Come for dinner, drinks, or simply enjoy the party atmosphere, this one’s has to be one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Glasgow.  

La Lanterna

Volare, oh oh! Mangiare, oh oh oh! The oldest family run Italian restaurant in Glasgow, La Lanterna has been serving up authentic food for over 45 years. They have two charming venues, one in the city centre and one in the West End, and their vegetarian dishes are simply YUM. Expect bruschette miste, asparagus risotto, ravioli verde, Mediterraneo salads and more. Buon appetito!

The 78

If you’re looking for the cool, trendy, and young spot in town, head to The 78. Situated in Glasgow’s West End, this one’s a 100% vegan spot in a cosy and chilled-out atmosphere, with chunky wooden tables, an open kitchen hatch, and a fire. Every Friday and Saturday, they welcome cool DJs for you to dance the night away, and Sunday evenings are reserved for live jazz. Book your spot here!

Cail Bruich

Yes, another West End institution, and to be honest, most of the vegetarian restaurants in Glasgow are located here. This casual restaurant specialises in modern Scottish dining, and their menus change in harmony with the Scottish seasons. At the moment, they’ve got an exciting menu with delicious vegetarian dishes such as Beetroot tartare, black pudding hazelnut, slow-baked celeriac with wild mushroom and many more. Mezzidiaka

Head to Mezzidiaki for some amazing Easter Mediterranean food. These little gem specialises in small tapas style dishes featuring inspiration from Morocco, Lebanon, Greece, and Turkey. Expect feta melenia, ejje koussa, patates bastisi, persian tagine, gigantes plaki, and many (many) more vegetarian goodies that will pick even your most carnivores friends’ interest. I mean, who doesn’t love Lebanese food anyway?

Mother India

No other cuisine does better vegetarian food than the Indian. Their authentic recipes include countless delicious vegetarian dishes, and you can find them all in Mother India. Expect veggie bkarahi, vegetable thali, aloo saag dosa and other plates. They’re located in Argyle Street and Bearsden, and they’re surely one of our best recommendation for a vegetarian restaurant in Glasgow.
