Barristers Restaurant & Bar is now open serving the finest beers, wines and cocktails.
The restaurant is headed up by our Executive chef, Steven Tuke providing premium British seasonal menus.
We try to source all of our produce locally with a menu driven by the gardeners, foragers, farmers and suppliers of Cheshire.
Afternoon Tea is served daily 11.00 - 17.00
Fantastic place, cannot wait for future developments to be completed.
All nine of us enjoyed the atmosphere in your restaurant and, of course, meeting up with old and loved colleagues! Thank you!
Pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and food quality. A little slow on service but generally a very good experience. We will be back
The one issue we had was a problem with the ladies toilet. My wife used them before we left and found 2of the toilets blocked and one with the cistern cover on the floor. She advised our waiter immediately. There was a function in the other room and my suggestion is much more regular checking of all toilets particularly when high usage is expected. As you can see it didn't spoil our experience but it's such a key area that people will judge you on.
Interesting building. Staff friendly and kind. Service patchy (potatoes rock hard; main course took a very long time to arrive; wrong coffee brought). Food very strange (humus plate tasteless; fish dry; ?popcorn with coffee - what was that about?)
Excellent food very well presented, lovely surroundings. Plenty of space between tables. Table service very good, friendly & attentive staff. Only downside was that (presumably because there was a big function happening at the same time) it took a long time for our food to arrive. Would certainly go back.
Really enjoyable evening. Good food. Staff great. Background Music great
lovely feel, lovely food. what more?
We had excellent service from the moment we rang up to make the reservation to leaving after our fantastic meal. The food was incredible, the atmosphere and restaurant itself had a really nice feel to it. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be returning again
Service was exceptional
Service was friendly and professional. A decorative and unusual venue and despite a high ceiling nevertheless there was still a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Only one gripe. I ordered a pasta dish (which I might add was extremely tasty), however the portion size was pretty underwhelming. As someone usually overfaced by meal size when eating out, it was somewhat ironic that having been served something so utterly delicious, disappointingly I was left still feeling hungry.
For those who prefer quality over quantity
Fourth time eating at Barristers and the food has been delicious every time. Lovely surroundings and staff.
I was running late for my lunch date at Barristers and called the restaurant and spoke to Jess who could not have been more helpful in looking after my friend until I arrived. Because it was Sunday we ordered roast chicken - one of half a dozen mains on offer. Personally I prefer a limited range of dishes cooked really well rather then unlimited choice. The theme is fresh, local, seasonal produce well cooked and presented. The chicken was very moist and a selection of vegetables - Kale, mange tout and chantenay carrots - cooked superbly (steamed and still ever so slightly crunchy). Food was delicious. I would describe portion size as 'adequate' rather than 'generous' but I am a 6' bloke and love food. We shared a cheeseboard that I felt was slightly overpriced. I like the décor, the service, the food. The atmosphere is a little hushed enhanced by the high ceilings and might be more fun on a Friday or Saturday evening. My criticisms really are minor and you will enjoy yourself at Barristers.
Fantastic service, Very attentive and the quality of food was first class!
Lovely atmosphere, food with taste and style and really good service which is a huge differentiation these days from so many other places. And thank you for taking the time to talk with us Peter - you should be very proud of what you have achieved!!
For an afternoon Tea it contained no special qualities. The waiter was unsure as to the teas available. The waitress did not describes the sandwiches which were average. cheese and pickle, ham and tomato were the ham contained grizzle. very very thin content on the egg and a salmon overspiced with lemon. only one portion of cream and jam for two scones although more was provided on asking. Great suroundings but little atmosphere with tables and chairs being re-arranged during our stay.
All very good but some odd crackling on the pork main course and taking my credit card when getting a drink at the bar before the meal was a bit odd
We both ate the Heritage Tomato dish and thought that it needed more zing- it was a little too bland.
Made very welcome my meal was fantastic and so was my friends. We were shown around building which was so interesting. We had a lovely time.
We went on a Friday evening, we were a table of 8 so took our own atmosphere! When we arrived I noted it was quiet (8:30pm) and felt aware we were loud! The music was very quiet, they turned it up later which was better. I guess I would just like to see the room come alive a little more. Food excellent, nothing to compare it with in Knutsford. Like the water on the table, great touch. Lots to like and recommend
Excellent meal - the strawberry cheesecake is a delight! We had a lovely, helpful, attentive waitress. If I had anything negative to say, the time between courses was a little too long for me. We arrived before 8pm but left after 10pm - being a school night, I was tired by the end of the evening but that was just me
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we were particularly impressed with the knowledgeable and friendly service. Keep it up!
What a lovely restaurant! The building is beautiful, the food fantastic and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. We had a delightful afternoon and would highly recommend.
