When it comes to conjuring up wonderfully creative dishes championing locally sourced British produce, we have two brilliantly experienced chefs at the helm:
Executive Chef, Steven Tuke; &
Head Chef, Ian Roberts.
Food was very good (although one member of our party was horrified that there was no chocolate on the menu!). Our server was lovely and everyone enjoyed the experience. Thank you!
Overall very good experience. Food was a high quality, maybe slightly lacking in quantity. Staff were friendly and efficient. Atmosphere wasn't amazing, but it was a Thursday night. I imagine it will be a lot busier on Friday and Saturday. Thanks again for a lovely Christmas meal.
Lovely atmosphere, very attentive waiting on folks and absolutely delicious food. Thanks for a great evening.
We booked early to take advantage of the early dining menu as we loved what we read! The website stated this was available until 19.00. We booked at 18.00 & was told the menu was available until 17.00 only due to the festive season, however it doesn’t state anywhere in relation to the time change for this menu. We subsequently ordered from the main menu. The scallops were fabulous, chicken average and Black Forest gateaux (although visually stunning) was dry on the palette. We were then asked to take drinks at the bar as our table was required. Overall - not a great experience!! The staff were lovely however and the venue itself very quirky.
We had a lovely time, it was the perfect ending for our weekend away. Service was great, although we had quite a wait for the table we'd pre-booked. The staff were very apologetic and we were compensated with a free round of drinks, which was very much appreciated.
Had an excellent Sunday dinner with all the family
The service was wonderful, from the moment we arrived we were greeted with smiling faces, even those that weren’t directly serving us. Very attentive and helpful with recommendations. The atmosphere was good, very unique and quirky setting in the restaurant which I believe works well. It’s nice that it still holds the appearance of a court room, incorporating fun art around the restaurant - there is definitely a lot to look at! The food was lovely, particularly the pate brulee starter – a nice twist on a classic dish – and the two main courses of beef bourguignon and pumpkin risotto. Both cooked to perfection and really tasty. The desserts were presented wonderfully (cheesecake and the black forest gateaux), the gateaux perhaps a bit rich or myself but certainly would be a hit with chocolate lovers! The highlight of our visit was certainly the warm and welcoming service that was received and the fantastic food. We would love to visit again.
Best meal out in a long time. Our waitress was lovely. The food was fantastic and the general atmosphere was great. Going to try Sunday lunch next time.
The afternoon tea was delightful. The staff were very attentive. The building is amazing with original features. Very unique. We will definitely be back to try a meal next time. Highly recommended
Amazing lunch! Great food, attentive staff and lovely atmosphere!! We will definitely be back.
Food and service very good. We had an enjoyable evening and would happily go back.
Food was lovely . Could have been more choice of lighter dishes/ saladsvfor lunchtime. Good service. Nicely unobtrusive yet attentive
Great service, beautiful setting and delicious food.
Excellent food, great choice, well cooked, good service, waiter, Bolage very helpful and friendly. Drinks quite expensive.
Fantastic experience. Please just keep using plastic straws (paper straws are awful and go mushy at the bottom).
We did just under 80 mile round trip to visit yourselves - Really nice atmosphere and decor, lovely polite staff who also gave you privacy - The food was lovely, however, we were not aware that it was a different menu on a Sunday - Also, slightly disappointed that we couldn't visit the rooftop gardens as this was not advertised as closed, the menu for the rooftop looked good too! But, we will be back!
Delightful as always
Food was lovely as was atmosphere waitress amazing!!
Amazing food and brilliant service
An excellent venue and a very good meal.
Food was very nice although took a long time to arrive at the table after ordering. We ordered a bottle of prosecco but were told they had sold out which was disappointing. Overall a nice evening.
Staff were very nice and attentive, building is very impressive but not many customers. Taster menu not available even though the other menus and a flyer on the table refer to it. Some of the portions e.g. fish pie and lamb were very small. All tables seem to be accessed by several steps a customer struggled to get to their table because of this. Overall, lovely setting, nice staff but food not good value for money sadly.
Excellent service food was lovely, but the price was quite high
HAD A GREAT MEAL ENJOYED OUR VISIT MANY THANKS STAFF WERE GREAT
We were especially impressed by the service and great food!
