Simply Amazing. I booked Afternoon Tea for my Mum and Sister as a treat. From the minute we walked in we were treated very special. The service was second to none and the staff were only too happy to help. The atmosphere was relaxing and the Afternoon tea was simply divine. We will return very soon and I can not recommend it highly enough. Thank you to all the staff, you are truly a credit to yourselves. Regards Adele
We had a very enjoyable evening. Food and service were very good
Lovely food, great venue, value for money and attentive staff. Recommended.
FANTASTIC FOOD AND SERVICE.wILL BE RETURNING.
I am gluten freeand was delighted with the selection of sandwiches. The only downside was that we were seated on one of the sides of the restaurant and it was freezing cold. However the delightful waiter moved us to table 15. Which was near a radiator. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and would like to visit you again.
Unfortunately we chose a midweek night to celebrate my wife’s birthday so there were very few people dining but certainly looking forward to going back soon at a weekend.
Dog friendly dinning experience. I would recommend this to all dog owners.
We ate on Friday lunchtime and it was quite quiet so not much atmosphere hence the three starts but our waiter was super attentive which was a lovely touch.
Amazing service really pleasant and friendly waitress. Highly recommended will be going back for sure
Afternoon tea with my wife, 1st time at Barristers very impressive place, staff were excellent, food was delicious definitely coming back .
afternoon tea. scones could have been larger and not much variety. Our cocktail/wine was not offered and we had to ask for it at the end.
A characterful establishment with tasty, well presented food.
The painting of the walls is not too impressive and you get the feeling it is not very clean. Took a long time to be greeted and sat down. Felt as if we were being ignored.
very enjoyable evening
Beautiful food in a very interesting setting. Very friendly service. Great value Would recommend without hesitation
First visit. Had 3 course Sunday lunch Excellent in all respects
Warm and friendly staff, tasty food and good value
Came for my husband's 50th birthday meal with 14 friends and family. Meals were all lovely and service was excellent!
Excellent food and service was brilliant. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a great evening!
I should be leaving a five star review, but it’s been reduced to a three. Whilst I would definitely recommend the restaurant for the amazing food and drinks, my visit was completely let down by breakfast. We were disappointed to learn from the manager later in the evening that because our stay fell on a weekday it would be continental breakfast (contrary to the in-room information). However we’d had a great night and was looking forward to it the next morning, we’d been asked what time we’d like it brought to our room and arranged for 9.30am. By 9.45 still no knock at the door so I looked outside to find two brown paper bags containing an apple, one of a multipack yoghurt (warm), an “Eat Natural” cereal bar made with cashew nuts (I’m allergic) and a bottle of juice - oh and a wooden spoon!! This absolutely let down the amazing evening we’d had and we took the insulting packed lunch home for the kids and went elsewhere for breakfast. Whilst I’d recommend the bar and evening meal, I wouldn’t fall for the dinner, bed and breakfast “deal”. Whilst I have emailed them to indicate my disappointment, I’m yet to receive the courtesy of a response.
when we booked we thought we were going to be in the large ball room obviously not enough bookings we did however thoroughly enjoyed the smaller more intimate setting of the main Bar/restaurant
Great food just lacked a little atmosphere
Was my first ever visit, will definitely be back, enjoyed everything about it and the birthday desert surprise for my son was a lovely gesture. Everything was excellent
We ordered a selection of breads with flavoured butter.. the bread that cane was all the same the butter tasted if nothing.. the veg was over done and it had been cooked in a microwave 😡
We have eaten here on previous occasions and once again all was fine, though the restaurant was quite quiet this time. Service was friendly and professional and the food excellent - with the exception of the sprouts which were virtually raw and impossible to get the fork into; perhaps customers could be asked how they prefer their veg cooked. We'll definitely be back though!
