About Biku Restaurant
Biku blends together the unique combination of a tea lounge, restaurant, antiques and book store in Bali.
Inspired by Indonesia's unique cultures, Biku is an eclectic mix of old Indonesia with a modern touch. Located in Seminyak, Bali, Biku takes on a life of its own in a historic 150-year-old Teak Joglo from East Java. The joglo was once an antique store but has been converted into a restaurant and is now Biku.
Been here a few times. On this occasion there was a band playing which was lovely! I have only scored 3 stars for the food as I have found the food to vary somewhat! I've tried the pies and the burgers and they are amazing!! Although the beef one doesn't have a lot of sauce. I was kicking myself for not ordering one this visit (I ordered butter chicken this time. See later comments) The pepe ikan and an Indonesian chicken dish (which I have forgotten the name of!) were also very flavoursome. However, the butter chicken I had on this visit and lamb curry I had on a previous visit were disappointing. Very little meat and not much flavour. It was a shame as the pies are chocked full of meat and incredibly good!! The starters, sesame chicken and the spring rolls are gorgeous too! Overall I love this place. Lovely staff, live music on Saturdays and the Balinese wines are lovely! You just need to avoid the curries! Stick to the other dishes and you get fantastic food at a very reasonable price :)
I go to Biku every time i go to Bali its just a lovely place to eat and relax
A lovely touch for the Birthday girl.. Cake and Happy Birthday sang by staff.
Everything was on point - price, food, service and vibes.
Excellent dinner in authentic Balinese restaurant. Will try and return for lunch or high tea before I leave Bali. Also family friendly .
The High Tea was a lovely experience as usual. Delicious food and excellent service.
We always enjoy a visit for Hight Tea at Biku. Great atmosphere and service. This was our 4th visit we will definitely be back next time we are in Bali.
Biku never disappoints, do yourself a favour you will love the food & decor
Unfortunately our lunch was disappointing. We have been to Biku many times but this time the food was below standard. My baguette was burnt & the tea had an odd flavour.
Love the afternoon tea menu - consistently good quality and value.
We loved Biku! We will absolutely go again. The food and service was excellent.
Loved the high tea thanks for keeping our booking as we where late arriving due to traffic did phone to let know .Only one thing do not think you should have to pay for another cup of tea
An amazing dining experience- 2 recommendations from different sources and certainly were pleasantly surprised! Great atmosphere with interesting and quirky decor, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was amazing- the range (many cuisines catered for) of foods for selection on the menu was extensive and included many choices for those with special dietary requirements. Most definitely value for money and certainly one of our favourite restaurants in Bali.
I love coming to Biku when I am in Bali. On my last visit I was disappointed that we were seated inside and not outside as per our previous visit. I booked this in March 2017 for a July reservation and even though I did not request outside, I would have thought that I would have been given priority of this space or offered this space but I was not. Inside was hot and uncomfortable and so this visit was disappointing. I will however return next time I am in Bali.
I wish I'd been to Biku before now. Beautiful food and such good value for the high tea. Thoroughly recommend it.
Lovely experience . Food great service great , relaxing feel .
I went for lunch the other day and liked the pad Thai salad I had. I shred a piece of carrot cale which was very good. I came back for dinner he next night. I had the special butter chicken. Should have just been serviced with naan without the rice. I thought the dish was very bland and had very little authentic Indian quality. It worth the money. I had a glas of wine too very mediocre wine selection and again poor quality. Wanted to love it but just didn't. I did have the carrot cake agai which was very good. On top of the poor quality, my stomach got upset shortly afterwards and suspect your food.
I absolutely love Biku and couldn't think of a more perfect place to celebrate my daughter's birthday whilst in Bali. Thank you for the amazing and friendly service, delicious food and going the extra mile with the party decorations and birthday cupcake. We will most definitely recommend Biku to all our friends and we will be back when we're next in Bali! Thank you!!
Nice food, Great service. Booking is a must as I did.
Great night. Came for a birthday and they were very accommodating and sung happy birthday with a cake.
We had a lovely High Tea - more than enough for two people! Very fresh, loved the scones with jam and cream especially. The readings we had done were pretty accurate. An enjoyable afternoon. Thank you
Thank you staff we had a most satisfying and wonderful lunch and we always go to Biku when in Bali A top restaurant and staff Thank you
Food and service were very good but the whole night was overshadowed by the Manager who seemed to be constantly ordering the staff around. We found her military style approach disappointing and if it wasn't for the great music would have left sooner,
Always enjoy a visit to Biku, and this time introduced my sisters to this experience. One of them reckons the fish curry is the best she has ever tasted.
2nd time here gets better every time . Thank you to all the staff for making this such a wonderful experience
