A 100% lovely afternoon at The Swan. Great service food, friendly athmosphere :)
Food was lovely. Caitlin our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Could not fault anything. We had a fantastic night. Thank You
You really can’t beat steak night Fabulous food Brilliant staff Lovely atmosphere
Booked for steak evening, excellent meal , good value and good service from Kitti.
I've been here a few times and suggested to a work colleague that we should come here as he loves good food. It took about 40 minutes from ordering for our meal to finally arrive, the people beside us arrived after us and had eaten 2 courses by the time our food arrived. I ordered the salmon with the risotto and although the salmon was perfectly cooked, the risotto was completely raw - you could still see the white colour it is when it's uncooked so it wasn't even close to being ready. The taste of the actual risotto was nothing short of horrible. It literally tasted of pure salt. There was no way I was waiting for them to try and cook the risotto again as risotto should take around 25 mins from scratch. so they brought me out some chips and a fresh piece of salmon... now the disappointing thing is I was still charged £16 for the salmon! I'm sure salmon and risotto is a lot more costly than salmon and some chips.. and the fact I had to eat once my colleague had finished meant it was quite as enjoyable. My banoffee cheesecake dessert was also poor. I must say however that the waiting staff were absolutely lovely and had a great manner about them. I'm just disappointed as it's unlikely I will come back here again now.
Recently visited for ‘steak night’, my steak was ordered as ‘rare’ and was completely over done. I also ordered sweet potato fries to be told as my food arrives that as a restaurant you don’t provide them, not when I placed the order. My second steak arrived which was cook well done on one side and rare on the other. Which is something I’ve never seen done before, my ‘fries’ were all approx 2cm squares of potatoe which reminded me of some sort of off cut scraped from the bottom of the pan. Evie? I think was the girl looking after me hair in plats and she was lovely and did everything she could. I was just let down by the food.
My Californian clients stayed at the swan whilst they were in Stafford on business. They commented on how nice the place was, with friendly staff and excellent food. It was great to go out and find a busy restaurant with atmosphere on a Monday night.
Excellent meal before going to the Stafford Gatehouse.
Excellent as always.
Took my mum here for mother’s day and received excellent service and delicious food! Highly recommend
Very attentive and helpful staff, nice food and lovely atmosphere.
Afternoon tea very tasty and great value
Bottomless prosecco brunch was excellent. Food choice was excellent and really tasty. Service was good, especially in terms of filling up the prosecco glasses! Would definitely come back and recommend to others.
Great food and atmosphere
oh.my.goodness. The most delicious meal we've had. Very friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Thank you :)
Service was a bit slow seeing as you were not busy. Food lovely though.
We lunched yesterday and chose the Express menu. When this menu started it was offering interesting dishes but the main courses have now been downgraded to almost a snack/ sandwich menu. I really do not wish a plate of thick white bread with a morsel of fish. The frittata did not look very exciting even with the black frying pan. The restaurant had run out of ice cream and we eventually managed to get a fresh fruit salad fir dessert which was nice ( no cream offered but so what). The crumble again served in the black frying pan was far too sweet( rhubarb) and the top looked as if it had been sprinkled on from a packet and not cooked - very unappetising. The 2 young waiters were not very communicative or apologetic for the very long wait for our food- it is certainly not served on an express basis- very disappointing.
Very pleased overall
I wouldn’t have my starter again, but the other 2 courses were very good. Service very good.
Staff were welcoming and service was good. Food was nice however I couldn't eat all my steak and ale pie as under the lid the meat was burnt and very dry.
Food good but temperature of the wine was awful. Very polite young waiter, however, he had not received training on pouring wine, we asked him (when the red wine dribbled down the glass) he was clearly embarrassed and anxious to please. We showed him how to tie a simple paper napkin round the bottle neck. Food was good, particularly the fish and chips.
Steak menu very good value
Had a wonderful night and dinner although my husband said that his steak was slightly cold inside. Also last year, we were able to order a T-bone steak with a little extra cost but this year, they didn’t offer it. Little disappointed - however, I loved the dessert menu! The expresso martini was rich in taste and the atmosphere was nice. Will definitely be visiting again!
An excellent meal. Two of the party had the steak meal deal whilst the third member ate al a carte. The starters were excellent too, can recommend mussels and the pear and goats cheese
