About Castle at Edgehill
Perched on the summit of Edgehill the stone tower overlooks the legendary battlefield and stunning landscape beyond. Inside, the pub offers a large bar with 4 main dining areas including the armoury bar, relaxed library and 2 dining rooms; terrace and restaurant boasting a panorama across several counties. Whilst outside there is a large landscaped beer garden where these views can also be enjoyed.
Afternoon Tea is served Monday to Saturday 15.00-17.00
Excellent lunch. The one thing that would have made it even better would be the availability of custard to go with the puddings.
Quiet evening on a Wednesday so not much ambience but very pleasant surroundings. My food was excellent and ample with fabulous NZ Sauvignon wine. Friends thought salad was small portion but enjoyed flavours.
Had an amazing meal, lovely friendly staff, will definitely be coming back again. would recommend 100%
Lovely meal but my friend had the fish which was supposed to be with mushrooms which seem to be missing! She told the waiter who then brought them out but we all still felt the meal should have been slightly larger.
Cod loin and pigs cheek. £17. I could have eaten 2 more at the same sitting and still have room for a dessert. Very poor value. I’ve eaten here many times but this dish was an insult to the pubs’ reputation.
Unique location with great atmosphere. Friendly staff, good drink choice and food is amazing but still good portion sizes.
Everything was great about our stay except the beds were very uncomfortable. It is definately a destination for younger people - we had our 79 year old mother with us and it was not a good venue for her.
Food was excellent, staff very helpful, friendly and attentive. Will definitely be revisiting.
Beautiful room, beautiful location, unfortunately can't comment on food as had arranged else where(that'll teach us!!) from the platters I saw being served, they looked devine! Will book again, this time with the food from The Castle! Recommend 5 star. Thanks again for a wonderful night away!
Quirky restaurant with amazing views, great service and very good food - will revisit
A very pleasant visit however a couple of pointers. Outside lighting is poor on the steps down from the accommodation to the main entrance. Having gone up to our room we had to come back down to our car to get something to find the pub in darkness and no lighting over the steps. Also, we were asked to settle our restaurant bill the evening of our stay which was no problem. However, we then received a phone call mid-afternoon on the day we had left chasing us for payment! We finally established that the member of staff was calling the wrong number!!
A fantastic evening - wow what amazing food - would not hesitate to eat here again 😜
Had a lovely afternoon in very beautiful surroundings. Food was lovely we all enjoyed our visit. I chose the venue as none of us are local from review on best restaurants to visit in area and because the venue looked picturesque and unique! If I was local I'd definitely be coming more often.
Very good food and evening
Excellent birthday meal
Very enjoyable evening......would have liked to have sat in the garden and watched the sun go down but the weather put paid to that!
Fantastic setting with great food and service.
My Managing Director and visitors from the USA really enjoyed the excellent food/service. Very friendly staff and a really nice atmosphere. Would go again if in the area.
The sandwiches were lovely, esp the Brie and chutney. Lots of food with plenty of choice.
A very accomplished menu and attentive, friendly service in a lovely setting. Our meals were delicious and perfectly timed. We've dined at The Castle several times now and will definitely be back soon! Thanks to Mark and the team.
Would recommend the afternoon tea, food and cake was lovely! The package should have included drinks (tea/coffee), but I was charged for this as extra on the final bill.
My sirloin steak was luke warm and rather dry, my friend had duck which was in his words tough, and another friend had lemon posset which she described as lemon curd. We enjoyed our evening but disappointed with our dinner. We have dined at the Castle on a number of occasions but feel let down on this particular visit.
We had a great afternoon tea, booked for my wife's birthday. Staff were attentive and friendly and the afternoon tea was well presented
Amazing food in a beautiful building with great views. Great service too!! Will definitely be back.
