Tipsy Tea is served Friday - Sunday 12.00 - 18.00
The staff were great, it was very dark and cold, did not feel comfortable. The food was ok, had to ask for extra jam and cream as not enough for two scones.
We had an afternoon tea through wowcher; it was initially cancelled due to covid and we waited ages for the place to open again as it didn’t re open at the same time as the other pubs did in august. Eventually we seen on Facebook that it was open again and we booked straight back in for the afternoon tea, it was our first visit but not our last. The decor, the food and the cocktails were all fantastic couldn’t fault it. The service was good and the staff very friendly.
Amazing “tipsy tea”
Visited for my Mum's 70th and can't wait to go back. Amazing atmosphere and the service was brilliant. Made her birthday extra special.
I’m sorry to say that this was one of the worst afternoon tea’s I’ve ever experienced. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I received a voucher for my birthday and was excited as I’ve been for a meal here twice before, and been very impressed. The sandwiches were stale, so much so we sent them back. Only to be given another plate of slightly less stale sandwiches. It’s clear that the scones, cake/gateau and Rocky road sweet treats are just bought in and not home made. There was also no macaroons as stated on the description. The portion size is quite frankly pathetic, what you get for two people at this venue, you would get for one person elsewhere (I’m not greedy, I’ve just been a lot of places for afternoon tea). We actually left still hungry. The only partial saving grace was the rum teapot cocktail which was genuinely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, but unfortunately the main event i.e. the food, was a total and utter let down.
I found the staff very helpful and the service very good. The two for £12 cocktails were a good bargain and delicious.
Had a voucher for Tipsy afternoon tea which I bought for my nieces 18th Birthday which was in March due to lockdown we have had to wait till now to use it. She absolutely loved it, the venue was just right up our street quirky and unusual. We were pleasantly surprised by the background music too and loved it very Caro Emerald esq. we were also treated to some amazing live music from Patrick who put a great twist on some great songs. Food was great the being table service only at the minute actually added to the experience of being a little pampered. Absolutely brilliant venue and I would definitely recommend reluctantly only because I am not sure I want to share my secret new find and then not get a table hahah!!!
It is the worst afternoon tea I’ve ever had ! The bread was stale very hard and do where the scones I had to ask for different ones all they did was put in microwave to soften up . They were out of a packet and really stale and hard as the sandwiches . The cocktail was lovely the decor was lovely but I wouldn’t recommend the afternoon tea
Went for Tipsy Tea while visiting Newcastle. Ended up having more cocktails and it was lovely. Would definitely recommend!
Friendly staff, lovely bar
Really enjoyed our visit. Great food and atmosphere, also great service. Recommend it.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch every thing was perfect
We had a lovely tipsy tea and the staff and atmosphere were really good in these strang times
Afternoon tea was just OK. Tasted like bought scones and cakes and if we had been paying full price I wouldn't be impressed. Also no tea! Hadn't realised cocktails actually replaced tea. Everywhere else when it's a cocktail afternoon tea you still get tea too. Was just OK but venue is lovely
Atmosphere good. Service good. Cocktail good, but food average. Pleased we were on a voucher deal. Cakes ok, scone too small, sandwiches ok, but the egg one was rubbish. A mixed experience, really ...
Group of 6 ppl booked using a Wowcher, great value for money and service was brilliant, all social distancing rules were followed.
Fabulous place with fabulous cocktails!! Been here many times when entertainment was permitted and was amazing! Even though no entertainment was aloud when we visited there was still a great atmosphere with music playing in the background. Cannot wait to visit again!!
Lovely waitresses , nice food. You need to add tip option when paying by card!
In my opinion it’s a bit to dark inside and although it’s nicely decorated you can hardly see your food to eat it. Staff were really friendly couldn’t do enough and it was reasonably priced. The Sunday dinner was large in size but the roast potatoes were rock hard and it spoilt it a touch. All in all the much better than my last visit. Puddings were lovely.
I bought a Tipsy Afternoon Tea in Wowcher but I was disappointed in the quality of the food. None of it felt freshly prepared. The sandwich fillings were very mediocre. The only redeeming point was the Teapot of Gin Cocktail. It was superb. The actual place is fabulous and the Sunday Lunch that other diners were having looked lovely. I feel that if they made everything from scratch for the Afternoon Tea it would have been perfect.
Lovely bar & friendly staff
Loved it would defo come back even looking for 50th birthday bath for me with girls brilliant
The tipsy afternoon tea was lovely, very quirky as was the venue. We were initially seated in a booth which was very pleasant but we were then moved to a smaller table in the bar area. This position was too close to the speakers so it was difficult to have a conversation. The service was poor. We felt rushed to finish our food as the staff clearly wanted our plates and teapots for other customers. Once we were finished with the afternoon tea we decided we wanted some more drinks. The cocktail menu wasn’t on the table app so we had to rely on a waitress taking our order. Unfortunately it took a considerable time to get anyone’s attention. After ordering our drinks we waited at least half an hour before they were finally served.
Fab! Great day
