The only think i enjoyed about this afternoon tea was the view, sparkling water and tea! There was no choice of sandwiches one of which was salmon and i cldnt even tell you what was on the other! There was far too many mini cakes and not enough finger food! The scones were het but were soggy by the tine u went to eat them! Would not recoment this to a friend!
Great location - looked like a good deal through 5pm Dining - they COMPLETELY forgot about us until, on being asked if I'd like something, I replied "some food would be nice" 75 minutes after buying a £38 bottle of wine!,
The attentiveness off staff reduced towards the end of the meal despite the restaurant being very quiet. The menu items had changed and this was not explained when we orders. We questioned this and the changes was explained by another member of staff regardless it left some of us with a meal we did not order that quite honestly had no flavour or merit on a restaurant menu. Excellent Settings and views - just need service and food to match.
ENJOUABLE MEAL WITH GOOD FOOD
Very good food served by staff who were extremely efficient and friendly.
Food was good, staff were nice and the venue is lovely. Only disappointment was my friend asked for a bowl of strawberries and cream for desert but was told there were no strawberries. We then all received our deserts garnished with STRAWBERRIES. I think you could have been more accommodating to my friends request, it wasn't a lot to ask and to lie about having strawberries was a bit unprofessional
Great food and fires my staff. Really nice and comfortable
Best afternoon tea I have had - everything was home made including scones, Victoria sponge cake, caramel shortcake and even the bread. A lot of it. some afternoon teas I have had have not had enough food on it - this was the opposite - well worth the money and trip to Loch Lomond for!
Hi we had booked our table for 8pm we were asked to take a seat in the bar we were still there at 8,35 we asked if our table was ready and she said if you take a seat in the bar I will c if ther is table 5min later we got a table .we were still at our dinner at 10 pm the dinner was great but the service was very poor never experienced this at a 4 star hotel yours Mr .MacDonald.
Nice afternoon but there was a lot of passing traffic going in and out the doors. And or standing on decking in groups. Afternoon tea was lovely so much on offer we had to pack the cakes up and take home. Staff were attentive and gave great service.
Spectacular view, fantastic food, top class service. Will definitely return.
Food was average, nothing amazing, a bit overpriced for what it was. Service was quite slow, although the staff were friendly, just not that well trained. Lighting and atmosphere is very stark - not what you'd like next to the loch - it should be full of twinkles and candles. Glass-topped tables are a very cold surface, not very romantic.
All waitresses working that night where lovely, friendly, very attentive and couldn't do enough, great service from them. Faultless Food was great Fresh, good size portions Also very pleased with choice for vegetarian meal Pumpkin curry great. Nice to see some imagination with veg meals
Fabulous afternoon tea experience. Beautiful setting, excellent quality and variety of food and very good service.
Morning Tea through itison deal. Very happy with the selection of food provided (wasn't sure what the jug of yellow stuff was though and egg could've been runny which is why not top marks). Staff couldn't have been nicer, nothing was too much trouble. Staff a real credit to the establishment. Felt relaxed and well taken care of. Would recommend to others.
The food was delicious & well presented. The service was awful. I have rarely experienced such a poor service. From the fuss made around not having a printed confirmation. We had all the details just not printed - to the need to go looking for waitress to get any service at all! Gave up in the end and left, Was asked when leaving if everything was ok. I gave feedback on service to which there was no response and blank face. When looking for our waitress she was at the empty side of restaurant having a giggle with a co- worker. I don't believe there wasn't enough staff as the restaurant wasn't busy! Really disappointing experience! Lovely food deserves better service.
I had potato skins for starters. The filling was lovely but the skins were overcooked and chewy. Main course was vegetable gallette. Again the filling was ok but the pastry was doughy. The chocolate pot for desert was very nice. My husband enjoyed his burger. The service was good. I didn't see any name badges but we were served mainly by the youngest looking waitress with blonde hair who was very pleasant
My husband and I stayed 1 night 29.09.17 this was a birthday gift from my daughters. We had a brilliant stay receptions greeted you with a smile and were happy to see you. Our room was fantastic, very clean (our compliments to housekeeping staff) had its own sauna which was great, housecoats and towels were laid out on the bed so we could use leisure facilities if we wished to do so we also had a balcony which we sat out on to take in the splendid view of Loch Lomond. We had our dinner in the restaurant which we could not fault the dinner was first class (our compliments to the chef) the waiting staff were extremely pleasant and helpful which is very hard to come by these days front of house staff in the evening and at breakfast were brilliant (our compliments to them also) this was a very well managed hotel that we would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends we would most defiantly stay again and would not go anywhere else to eat.
Food was lovely but have to say I think the menu could be a bit more expansive.
Spectacular views, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.
I went for a high tea with my daughter. The food was delicious, the staff were extremely attentive and the whole experience was relaxing and magical. Thoroughly recommend it.
Spent my birthday at the Lodge on Loch Lomond and had dinner at Colquhouns. It was outsanding ambiance with views of the lake at sunset, great service and great food. I cannot imagine a better place for a special birthday!
Sandwiches did not have much filling, no choice for non alcoholic lager
Had a great evening in a world class location.
