Good food but soggy chips
Fab meal great choice and good value for money . What more do you need!
Absolutely stunning! Staff couldn't do enough Can't wait to return x
Very good food. Great change of menu from our Mother’s Day visit. Only criticism, your portion sizes could be a touch smaller. Thoroughly enjoyed our second visit.
Highly recommended, but you must book!
Excellent service and food
Good vegan menu and staff were very helpful with additional dietary requirements.
Lovely food excellent service especially when we changed dates on a number of occasions. Thank you.
had a lovely meal celebrating our daughters 16th birthday. however, there were a few things that could have been better, we had to wait a long time for drinks to be served at one point I had to ask again for them as we were on our main course and no drinks!! no steak knife was given for my steak,we had taken in a cake which was kindly brought out but again I had to ask for plates and cutlery, .
Very poor service. Had to wait to be seated for ages and wasn't offered a drink by the bar staff. Drinks ordered at the table never came, had to get up and ask where they were. Mains plates not cleared and not offered the sweet menu. No one asked how our meals were.
Really friendly service and food was amazing xxx
Even though it was very busy the service couldn’t have been quicker. The food was by far one of the best meals I’ve had for a long time, especially with the cost of the meal. I have definitely found my new favourite place to eat out.
Food was fabulous and service was prompt and friendly. Really lovely place.
Nice atmosphere and good service by staff enjoyed our food will be returning
We had a most enjoyable sunday lunch. Excellent service from the waiters and first class food from the comprehensive 3xcourse menu.
This was our first time visit having received a voucher for two as a gift. The service and the food were first class and in a very pleasant atmosphere. This will not be our last visit to the Dog and Doublet. Many Thanks to all concerned.
Fabulous anniversary stay
Placed at the back of the restaurant and forgotten about?. Poor service. Only part of drinks order served which then had to be chased. Finally 1 desert not served and after chasing it was served when all others had finished.
Generous portions very tasty food .
One course got lost between the table and the kitchen but matter was resolved satisfactorily.
My booking was from 12.00-15.00 hrs but was asked to leave at 14:30 as another party was booked apart from that it was excellent
As good as always. Thats why we keep returning.
Food and menu choice was great. However, the service was appalling, we had to chase our drinks, we were asked if we wanted any sauces, they never came so we asked, they still never came. Trying to pay the bill too, we asked twice if we could pay, we even joked we’d walk out if we couldn’t get anyone to take our money. When I said the device hadn’t been great, I was told about staff members been off ill. No excuse!
Having dined previously at the Dog & Doublet with friends we decided to try the Thursday evening 'Steak Night', we were not disappointed. Personally choose the 'Rib Eye' which proved cooked to liking which was succulent and tasty. The batter on the onion rings was extraordinary being extremely light and crispy. No wonder the restaurant was busy as the Steak Night is exceptional value for money.
Service was brilliant ! Food was delicious , I thought £4.40 was a little expensive for a soft drink !! Overall another good visit, thank you
