Food was good but could have been warmer. Service was very good.
Very nice meal and decided to stay the night and get breakfast! We loved our stay and the food was great. The staff were so lovely also.
Excellent value for money and exceptional service. We’ll be back!
Beautiful really enjoyed it. Thank you will be back soon x
Lovely stay. Only negatives were no hairdryer in the room and marks all over the headboard. Other than that, perfect!
Second time visiting in recent weeks. Lovely food and service
the food in this establishment was it's only saving grace. The dining areas were filthy, cob webs above our heads in the evening restaurant, a very filthy floor and chair in the breakfast room, we were shown to another table which was just as bad and we then choose one which was moderately better, The "grumpy" waiter said the mess must have been from the day before!!!! He did summon a cleaner to vacuum up as we were dinning. NOT likely for us to return. Your chefs are the only light in this dismal, dirty and very, very tired old Hotel. Definitely not as depicted in your advertisement.
Very welcoming staff Mr Gash the server was lovely, well done!! Afternoon tea was beautiful, felt very safe too thank you!
Super fast efficient service in the rib room . Lovely food very well presented Only criticism we were charged for another tables bottle of wine but sorted out at check out
Excellent service in a lovely relaxing atmosphere, would definitely visit again
Absolutely all aspects perfect really enjoyed it definitely recommend you
I would never in a month of Sundays go into a bar and order afternoon tea. Why on earth do you think it is acceptable to serve afternoon tea in a bar on a copper topped table?
Very welcoming and accomodating staff throughout.
The staff are wonderful and ensure customers are well looked after lots of measures in place for the new way of working since Covid. Hotel is beautiful and well maintained we were there for the organised event we had a fabulous time every aspect of the event was very well organised.
We were served by a lovely red-haired Scottish(sounding) girl. She made sure we had plenty of tea and kept checking in on us even though she was very busy. We also really appreciated being forewarned that the sausage rolls were vegetarian, even if they did look and taste like meat which helped avoid anxiety/situation so that was good too. The sausage rolls themselves were delicious and I definitely would have asked if they were meat so it shows staff are really thoughtful and go that extra mile to help. Definitely planning to return soon.
Laura staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. They packaged up and an additional afternoon tea as a takeaway and also searched the hotel to find an alternative flavour of jam as one of our party is picky and awkward!! Food was great too but the staff really made it for us.
Excellent food and service
Service was excellent.
Lovely food, great service and we felt comfortable.
Lovely experience. Please pass on our sincere thanks and praise to Helen and Ryan, they were attentive, great customer service and made my birthday night so special!
I booked afternoon tea for my parent through your online service. It didn't ask for payment, when I rang to clarify I was told to ring on day of appointment and pay over the phone, probably because the staff member was too busy with your outdoor festival to care about a measly afternoon tea. I called as instructed and was told it was not possible, no way at all ..... So parents had to pay for their own treat. I was embarrassed, they were embarrassed and the treat ruined
What a delightful treat! I can highly recommend the afternoon tea. Lovely sandwiches, savouries, cheese and fruit scones along with a selection of cakes. The staff were very friendly and checked on us several times to see if we needed anymore tea or coffee. We were given a box to take away the treats we didn't manage to eat too. Great surroundings, service and super value for money. We will be returning soon.
We regularly come for afternoon tea, we decided this time to take advantage of the governments eat out scheme. It was disappointing as it wasn’t the ‘Usual’ standard, we usually enjoy trio of scones & tastier sandwich fillings & wraps. Fantastic saving but saddened that it’s been cut back.
The staff serving were absolutely run ragged, struggling to see to everyone. Each individual was really pleasant & polite but they were clearly under far too much pressure. We waited an hour for 3 ciabattas & a soft drink I ordered never came. The room & surroundings are beautiful. We didn’t know where to go, so we went into hotel reception to ask. The staff member at the desk was on the phone/asking her colleagues something in the office behind. Even though we stood there for a good few minutes & were seen, not one of them acknowledged us. We therefore walked back out & ended up searching around the back of the building only to discover locked entrances. Very disappointed & therefore cancelled another booking I had for tomorrow.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and the manager was very helpful and attentive. We will be back.
