Lovely 80th birthday lunch . Excellent service, especially the waiters joining in when we were singing 'Happy Birthday '. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, especially mum!
It is lovely to be back and it is just as nice as ever
Fantastic visit once again. Have recommended this venue many times. Let's see now, whose birthday is next? Oh dear it's mine - see you soon.
Wonderful cheese souffle again. Delicious lunch!
Fabulous lunch. Souffle was the best I have ever tasted. Service excellent. The only reason atmosphere a 3 was because our table was only one occupied. Will be back soon!
Myself and my husband visited as an anniversary treat (as we got married there a year ago), was lovely and we really enjoyed the afternoon tea. We were offered more of everything if we needed it too, the portion size was perfect for two and was all very fresh and delicious. We would recommend this to anyone. Look forward to visiting again!
Excellent, as always.
Delicious meal, great service. Attentive staff but not intrusive. Worth going for a special occasion..
Wonderful, as always.
We loved our starters and desert. The main had ample meat which was delicious but disappointing veg. The potatoes were deep fried and I noticed most plates were going bk with them on it. Shame I love a decent roast potato. Just hard cabbage n carrots. Again a bit more cooking n variety but I appreciate that's a personal opinion. Lovely time, great service, fab wine. We have been many times before and will come again. Sarah
Food was very good, enjoyed by all, portion sizes a little on the generous side but not complaining! Just didn't have room to have dessert 😔 Would definitely eat here again.
A thoroughly enjoyable 80th birthday lunch for my mother. From the planning with Kelly through to the excellent food and service from the kitchen and restaurant staff, all was dealt with in a patient and professional manner.
Put fish cakes back on they were the best and still on pictures on your website
We first dined at The Millstream some years ago upon recommendation and since then have enjoyed many lunches with friends in your restaurant - great service, excellent food and a homely & comfortable atmosphere. Needless to say we shall continue to visit the Millstream - many thanks to all the staff who make our time with you such a pleasure.
Thoroughly civilised and enjoyable experience! Highly recommended.
Excellent food and service. Friendly waiting staff. We had a superb meal served in a relaxed atmosphere. Coffee in the lounge to follow with a discrete piano playing rounded off an extremely enjoyable evening. Would highly recommend.
My visit on Sunday was my first and unfortunately I have to say I was disappointed in both food and service. In terms of service, the individual waiters and waitresses were pleasant and efficient; however, the length of time we had to wait just to even be served starters was ridiculous. In terms of food, one of our party chose the cheese souffle to start, followed by the hake, and was very pleased with his choice. The rest of us opted for the Sunday roast and were disappointed with our choice. Whilst the pork itself was very good and the beef was acceptable (though not great), the roast potatoes - one of the most important components of any Sunday roast - were nothing short of appalling. They were way overcooked, so hardened on their base that they could not easily be broken into with a knife. I can honestly say that if I was cooking at home for guests and my roast potatoes had turned out like that, I would have thrown them away and not served them. The other vegetables were adequate, but pretty uninspiring for a restaurant with the Millstream's reputation. In the best British tradition, we would very rarely give any negative feedback when asked if our meal was OK. On this occasion, when asked, we commented that the roast potatoes had been very poor. No great interest was taken in our comments and we received the usual platitudes in return. I later overheard another table making the same complaint.
This was our first visit to the Millstream restaurant and we had a really enjoyable lunch, from the warm welcome when we arrived to coffee in the lounge afterwards. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the food was excellent. The vegetarian option was delicious, such a refreshing change to have something other than goats cheese. We have now booked a family lunch to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and am confident we shall all have a lovely time. Thank you.
Thanks to Simone and team, our guest with dietary needs was looked after wonderfully. We love visiting and are never disappointed, even better that you are in our village! See you soon.
I didn't like to make a fuss as it was my Mothers 80th family lunch party. Unfortunately the champagne was not cold enough and the chicken main course my son in law and myself had was very poor, the chicken was cold and the potato was a hard tasteless lump! I was very disappointed with the food. The rest of my party thought the food was just ok! Apparently the fish was watery a number of my party reported. Did have high expectations but sadly was not met.
THIRD TIME WE'VE HAD OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY AT THE MILLSTREAM AND ONCE AGAIN YOU DELIVERED, EVERYONE REALLY ENJOYED THE WHOE EXPERIANCE. THANK YOU MILLSTREAM!!
Fabulous food, service and surroundings. Totally recommend Millstream.
Superb, as always.
Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere.
Could not fault the experience from booking to eating
