Second time we have had Sunday lunch here. Both have been excellent, with good food and efficient service.
While we enjoyed our gourmet evening, second in three months, we noticed that attention to detail is not what we had experienced on previous occasions. For example, glasses of wine or water were never left unattended; if a guest had left his or her seat to visit the washroom, their napkin would be neatly folded and placed. One doesn't expect a visit from a member of staff every few minutes, but the quality of interaction with customers matters can make a big difference. Lack of it reflects, a mechanical or instrumental approach to service. Hope this helps to refocus on how staff conduct themselves on the floor. The person who takes responsibility of being in charge of the floor has to be someone who not only anticipates but share his or her attention to everyone, not just one or two tables. That said, we love being there and will continue to do so because the quality of food served is of a very high standard.
Wonderful food and service as always.
Excellent. Extensive menu. Al a carte was very good.
Very nice but expensive for 10 people £507 but nice
My steak was good but my wife had the Lamb The quantity was ridiculously small Extremely very poor value for money Really quite disappointed
Thank you for making my girlfriend´s birthday special with the on request rose given after the appetisers and the decorated plate with chocolates/truffles. Lovely service and evening.
We had a fantastic evening, thanks very much, Marie was especially lovely, looking after us attentively and sensitively. We loved the Trussell Suite, and the food was exceptional. Moat House never disappoints,
Lovely meal for 18th celebrations with very attentive staff. Thank you
Fabulous evening thank you. Food great service wonderful. A lovely evening and your on our doorstep we are very lucky !!
Great quality food and lovely setting.
Faultless. Top of my list with excellent service, food and wine. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone with a discerning pallet who wants to find out what fine dining is all about.
Delicious afternoon tea with amazing cakes. We had a table by the window overlooking the canal and we felt like royalty with the service.
While we always enjoy eating at the Moat House we felt last nights meal was not one of the best. We had the battered cod which was on the small side and left us feeling a bit disappointed, particularly because we have had this dish before and really enjoyed it. Not connected with last night but a general observation is that the menu is a bit small and if you have an allergy which i do this leaves not much choice. What happened to the Specials?. This lack of choice means we will not visit as often as we would like.
Food was absolutely delicious.
Enjoyed my birthday meal. Thank you 😊
The food and service were excellent. Portions are appropriately judged so that the two (or three) courses can be enjoyed in the middle of the day. It was slightly cool in the area where we were sitting but it did not become uncomfortable.
An excellent Sunday lunch in lovely surroundings. The food and service was impeccable.
Staff always well attired, attentive service.
Again, another fantastic evening meal. Nothing whatsoever to fault. Charlotte was extremely pleasant and attentive and made the evening complete. Thank you.
Pleasant environment, good food
We visiting on a Saturday for a fixed price lunch and the food was exceptional. There were 3 of us attending and all were very satisfied with the standard of the food and drinks on offer. When were seated, the service was very good, but we did have to wait a couple of minutes before anyone appeared to show us to our table. The restaurant itself was quite empty, so we were surprised it took so long to be seated and it also meant the atmosphere was a little on the quiet side. The bar area was very busy and the atmosphere when walking through was vibrant. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch. The food is always to a high standard and we would definitely return and highly recommend.
Good menu Good service .Female head of restaurant superb and 'on the ball' coordinating everything .
Not the first time eating here and it won't be the last as usual we have had a fabulous experience from the first moment to the last
