Very enjoyable lunch in superb location. Only comment I would make (and it is a very minor observation which didn't stop me enjoying the meal) is that the pasta dish I had could have done with being a bit hotter so it didn't cool down too quickly during the meal.
We love it at the Portrait Restaurant. Lovely views across London and good food, wine and service to go with it. Not forgetting the art and special displays downstairs. What's not to like?
A lovely location and setting, live in Bristol but have now visited the restaurant with various friends about 4 times.
I am disabled and my special need s traws, spoons, cutting the meat where rapidly looked after Thank you Tim
We had a great meal really enjoyed it
Excellent food particularly, with good service and a very nice atmosphere altogether.
A beautiful view but high prices for smalll portions.
Never fails to impress - and particularly because the great views seem to come free of charge; I mean that the standard of food is high and good value, which combined with the excellent service would make this a great restaurant in any location. So when you add the breathtaking views it really is one of the great experiences to be had in London - particularly after a leisurely stroll round one of the galleries which are truly wonderful in the way the portraits bring to life names and events irrespective of your taste in art.
Fantastic location, impeccable service and superb food. We will definitely be returning
The service was exceptional - amazing. Friendly yet professional and efficient. The food was generally top notch, well executed, and wonderfully tasty however I had the cheese to follow my main. The cheeses and quince were delicious however for the price I found it spartan. Other than that it was a fantastic visit.
Great afternoon tea, very friendly service.
We had a very nice afternoon and would recommend this venue.
One of the best location for a casual business lunch!
I very much enjoy the NPG restaurant and the service is excellent. The venue delightful with dramatic rooftop views. Yesterday my friend and I both ordered onglet for lunch - hers was cold and chewy and mine was so chewy that after one bite I knew I would not be able to eat it. Everything else was fine and the restaurant gave us an excellent plaice alternative.
The wee french assistant manager(?), manager(?) is very good at his job and an asset to the team! We were however unfortunate to be sat in an area which was between waiting areas ie. between two waiters which did mean that things were forgotten. When forgotten items were highlighted, the problem was fixed very easily however.
Lovely Mother's Day lunch. Great food, although one of the dishes was cold. Wonderful atmosphere and views. Would recommend
Faultless and a great view. What more can you want??
First visit - very impressed by the location and food/service. I will book again.
Lovely views over the city; reasonably priced, good service.
Staff were very engaging and the food was excellent. The view just added to the fantastic evening.
Our pre-theatre visit was amazing. It was our first time there and the view, service, food and value was absolutely fanstastic. All the staff were knowledgable, helpful and professional, food and wine delicious and the views from any aspect were phenomenal. We will most certainly be back!
We had a lovely time, celebrating my mother’s birthday. The only thing that was strange was the £10 supplement for a glass of sparklingly wine when a Bellini was only £5 and a glass of prosecco was £8. But the service was lovely and we were made very welcome. The special happy birthday message on the plate was much appreciated! Thanks.
Lovely view, great food and service that was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Maybe higher price than is usual in the provinces but this is London, and that view is worth something. Thank you for making it a special occasion (Mothering Sunday weekend and my son's birthday) . Special thanks to the lovely waiter who let us stay on and chat and enjoy the view after 8pm (when we thought we would have to leave)
We had a lovely meal. Thank you
