About Richmond Tearooms
Manchester's premier afternoon tea venue.
A traditional English style tea room serving food and an array of beverages throughout the day and evening.
With unique décor inspired by Tim Burton's Wonderland this quirky tearoom must be seen to be believed.
Afternoon Tea is served Mon-Thur 11am-8:15pm & Fri-Sunday 10am-8:45pm
On arriving a gentleman confirmed my booking. He then disappeared without a word leaving me standing in the lobby. He returned about 10minutes later and served the party that had booked a table for 2:30 (15 minutes later than ours), they were taken straight to their table. We were still left standing. When we did reach our table we had been crammed into the corner with the table in front so close that we weren’t able to sit on two of the chairs. Unfortunately we had to ask the table in front to move to allow us to sit. We were crammed in like sardines which did ruin the atmosphere quite considerably. The food was good quality and was served in a timely manner. We had preordered so I imagine this helped however, were at the tea rooms for 3 hours and after being initially served the staff only asked if we needed anything else once and we rarely saw staff at all in this time. As a party of 10 we expected slightly better service. Some of the crockery on the table (saucers) were already dirty. As the staff were obviously busy we didn’t mention it but things like this should really be checked. Afternoon tea was reasonably priced although Jacket potatoes were quite expensive at around £6.75 each. I would have at least expected a full side salad for this. Overall, the food was good but the surroundings and service let it down on this occasion.
A little expensive for the amount of food, perhaps a little extra, some chips or crisps with each platter.
Had a fabulous time. There was a group of 10 of us. We were served in good time. Sandwiches and cakes were amazing! Found the staff polite and friendly. We will definitely be coming back. Thankyou so much!
All staff very friendly and smile
Richmond Tearooms are excellent and I would highly recommend them.
Everything was superb - the service, the food & drink and the atmosphere. The food was plentiful, tasty and well presented and worth every penny. We'll certainly be back for more.
Two chicken pies were served instead of cheese and onion. Table wasn't cleared away for ages. Food took an hour to arrive despite pre ordering. Wasn't offered anymore drinks apart from the first order. Only saw the waitress twice. Very cramped.
An excellent place to kick back and relax! Brilliant location, fab food and a quirky, but charming atmosphere! Will definitely return
Had a lovely afternoon tea - 5 of us had a Hatters afternoon tea! Lovely food, followed by cocktails!
Welcoming staff and overall great experience for our group..thank you
Really lovely afternoon tea, staff were really lovely and friendly, service was very good, really enjoyed our visit, would highly recommend and will definitely be back again
The meal was fantastic and everyone enjoyed their meals. We have been a number of times and never had a bad meal. The place has great atmosphere and love the decoration of the room and how the food etc is presented. We will be back again. Thank You

Nice treat for my friends birthdays
Great atmosphere, as a group we enjoyed ourselves. The staff was excellent dealing with such a big group. The communication before hand was excellent. Thank you
The food was delicious. We had a great time and even though we were a big group the service was quick and friendly.
Staff were lovely with my mum who was 87 and a bit infirm. They couldn’t do enough and swapped our table for a more accessible one.
We had our Hen party here for 30 people. I must say the food and the service was bar far the best. The staff catered for our guests needs and the manager was fantastic and friendly and helpful. We throughly enjoyed it and will back very soon thank you. It's a wonderful quirky little Gem right in the heart of Manchester and the Gay village. Rhonda & Lisa
Muito mau o atendimento por parte dos funcionários falta de simpatia e nada prestaveis. Foi uma desilusão.
I surprised my mum to a birthday treat! We had a wonderful experience! The decor is beautiful, the service was great and the Mad Hatters tea and The queens tea was lovely. Will be definatley be returning very soon. Thank you to all the staff :-)x
This is surely a big must to whoever is in Manchester for a holiday. A truly great experience and we enjoyed every minute of it! It was suggested to us by our friends, and we are so glad that we visited for tea and snacks.we will come again for sure! well done to all the staff!
Thanks for a lovely afternoon!
Food and service was very good though at times difficult to catch a waiter/waitress. Prices seem a bit steep.
Brilliant place lovely food and afternoon tea. it was every busy when we came in, it felt very very cramped with it being busy and being a table of 5 we were squashed onto table. They service wasp excellent will definitely be back.
