Afternoon Tea is served daily at sittings at 1.30pm & 3.30pm
We had a lovely afternoon tea. The waitress was lovely. If you cant eat it all, will box it for you. So relaxed and lovely
See email of complaint sent on the 19 th October 2017.
really enjoyed my birthday treat with my daughter Georgia
We had a wonderful evening this was a gift for our 30th wedding anniversary bought by our daughters ....lovely
Excellent staff and food, very enjoyable experience. Will come back again
Service was good but would have liked a choice when changing one of the sandwiches due to a fish allergy as we ended up with a lot of egg sandwiches instead.
As always just perfect thank you
I was disappointed with my first visit here. I had mentioned that we were celebrating two birthdays (the day of our visit and the next day) but nothing to acknowledge this was presented. Having also visited the Samling in Windermere (cheaper per head) and Betty's in York I expected The Devonshire Arms to be of the same standard - sadly it did not meet the same mark. I would like to add that 'Alex' did make our guests (from America) feel special - he did add some sparkle to the occasion, it will be him whom they will remember.
A lovey visit for afternoon tea, beautiful fresh sandwiches and cakes. Friendly helpful staff will certainly be returning.
Great fine dining experience - thank you
We enjoyed our short stay at the Devonshire Arms. We had a very comfortable room with great views across the grounds and countryside. Our meal in the Burlington Restaurant was to be the high point of a week away to celebrate my 60th Birthday, but was a real disappointment. The food lacked the wow factor that I would have expected at the price. The previous Saturday we dined at a Restaurant near home and had food with better quality ingredients, preparation and presentation at a quarter of the price of this one. The Maitre d'Hotel was officious and overbearing and the waitresses spoke so quietly and with such heavy accents it was almost impossible to hear the details of the food served. If I was to summarise it in a few words it would be "Overblown and Overpriced!".
No faulting of the service or food delivery , both excellent and a step above the average without doubt. However I felt somewhat over priced. A bottle of prosecco at £57's excessive.
Exciting food and an excellent wine flight. The service would also have been five stars, but there were a couple of mistakes and everyone was to busy.
Ana absolutely lovely afternoon tea and spa. The service and food was fantastic, the waiter was lovely and welcoming
Lovely evening. Excellent service, food and wine. The waiter even brought us a menu to our room with a list of the pairing wines.
We were treated wonderfully, the service and food was amazing - thank you
The Burlington at the Devonshire Arms is one of our favourite restaurants and never fails to please. We chose the Tasting Menu on this visit with accompanying wines which was an excellent choice.
Always a delight to return to such a beautiful place, stunning location ....delightful afternoon tea ....great attention to detail ...very friendly staff .....such a special way to spend an afternoon .....will be returning very soon
Very enjoyable afternoon in pleasant and relaxed surroundings
Excellent tasting menu last Saturday - your Sous Chef and other staff did an amazing job. Thank you for a most enjoyable evening. We look forward to our next visit.
The whole experience was pleasant with attentive staff. But I thought the food was average. I did ask for special sandwiches in advance with no dressings and they turned up with dressing! They offered to replace them but it would have been another 20 minute wait so I took them rather than make a fuss. The afternoon tea was a treat and whilst the whole experience was pleasant it wasn't over memorable.
Thought the ambience, decor, staff and food were excellent. Service was very attentive from staff that clearly have a pride in their work. Alex was excellent.
The served quantities are really small. Service was very slow.
Enjoyed everything about the evening, atmosphere, staff and food were all superb.
