Afternoon Tea is served daily at sittings at 1.30pm & 3.30pm
We were treated to Afternoon tea as a Mother’s Day surprise. The food was lovely, especially the scone!!! The setting was beautiful and the staff were lovely.
The six and nine course menues were a new experience for us but very enjoyable.
Fantastic afternoon tea, would love to come back
Sumptuous and classical in equal measure the dining area was set in wonderful surroundings making afternoon tea a delightful experience from start to finish.
The best meal I've ever had in my entire life, each course just continued to surprise, faultless food.
It took a while to pay the bill as many staff walked passed us not seeing the card and wallet were out and ready to pay, and we were just waiting for the card machine. Otherwise, superb service. Food is very special.
We had a lovely afternoon tea but we noticed our champagne flutes were dirty, the waitress changed them very quickly, but then we noticed our water glasses were not clean, one had lipstick on. Then we ordered a whisky and we had to send it back as the glass again wasn’t clean, the waiter was very apologetic and changed it quickly the glass was sparkling then! I think you just need to polish all your glasses and the silverware.
A really lovely getsture and wonderful afternoon , thank you Trevor Commons
Hi I visited the Burlington with my sister as a birthday treat. Upon arrival it was difficult to find the Burlington as it isn’t signposted around the grounds or on the door of the restaurant. Once we were seated the service was good and we got a lovely afternoon tea. However the staff seemed to disappear and never came back to ask if everything was ok and we could have quite easily have left without paying as there were no staff around at all. We had to go and ask reception where we had to get the bill from which was from the cocktail lounge across a corridor to the restaurant. I would recommend the afternoon tea but the service needs to be improved is my opinion.
Excellent service and afternoon tea, will be coming back sometime.
We were very disappointed at the lack of presence of staff. We had to keep a look out for a member of staff to get us more tea. It came then no milk so had to look out for staff. Not our experience in other places where we've paid a lot less. More staff presence and we would be very happy.
The quality of the food and the location remains second to none however on this trip I was disappointed as the service in the restaurant was not what I had come to expect. We had to consistently prompt to get water and wine refreshed and though the waiter was polite and engaging, needed to work on his attentiveness. Unfortunately there was also a party which was loud and was suffering from 'over-indulgence', this was not managed well by the restaurant staff and did impact the evening. A shame as the Devonshire remains outstanding in food quality and I feel the chef was let down.
Superb tea, sandwiches, cake and scones. Really fresh and tasty. We were really impressed with the quality and the service. The table was a little dark at first and could have done with its own lamp but apart from that we would definitely book again
We just love the place! It was the second time we went at Christmas time and the decoration makes it even more lovely, warm and atmospheric.
Lovely atmosphere, great food and service.
Lovely afternoon tea. Wonderful hotel! Looking forward to our next visit!
Afternoon tea was a birthday present for my wife and myself from my eldest daughter and family it was a very relaxed and enjoyable treat for both of us Staff very helpful and friendly, food delicious.Thank you.
Your attention to detail and the care taken to cater for our dietary requirements was truly outstanding.
Wonderful dining experience, fresh ingredients and beautiful parings of flavors.
Staff were not very attentive. As needed milk and more tea but couldn't find staff. I also felt adding 8pounds for more sandwiches on menu was something I have not seen and thought was extreme.
Very disappointed with both the quality and quantity of food. We have eaten at the Burlington Restaurant many times over previous years but the standard of cuisine has really declined since our last visit (change of chef?).The whole dining experience has equally declined ... from no fire in the lounge (on a very cold winter's evening), lukewarm greeting on arrival, very small meal portions and not very attractive plate setting (possibly because so little food on the plate!) to boring biscuits with the tea & coffee at the end of the meal. Very disappointed that the restaurant has declined to such an extent over the past 12 months and would be unlikely to return (until it improves) or recommend it to friends especially as it is very pricey! Not value for money at the present time.
I had this afternoon Tea bought for my 50th birthday so it was supposed to be an afternoon to put in my memories but not . I was very disappointed in the service we received and the ill mannered guests that were in the same room as ourselves making rude comments to my husband . Your staff came to attend to us 3 times in all the time we were there , not once fud three come and ask if everything was ok . Both my husband and I would have expected a lot better service and atmosphere is was the Devonshire Arms after all . Not the the best experience I’ve had for my 50th birthday celebration. Yours Micheala Richardson
Lovely afternoon treat out with my girlfriends. Food was Fabulous!
To celebrate my wife's 70th birthday I chose afternoon tea at the Burlington restaurant as a surprise and was not disappointed, the service was absolute quality, from the minute our party of six arrived, the platters with sandwiches, scones, small trifles, meringues, scones ect were ample and tasty. Memorable.
I took my dad for afternoon tea and it was amazing the staff were lovely and the food was gorgeous!! As a gluten free it was one of the best I’ve had! We were having a catch up and it was lovely to not feel like we had to rush as we leisurely ate our food!! Thank you
