Afternoon Tea is served daily at sittings at 1.30pm & 3.30pm
Lovely as ever at the Devonshire Arms, love this hotel every time we come. Afternoon tea great and even made us plainer sandwiches. Thank you!
A real mixed bag at the Burlington on Sunday, and that applies to both the food and service. We were staying in th hotel so went to the cocktail lounge first which was lovely, but that is where the lovely ended. For me, the service and the difference in the waiting standards was obvious, some were great and some were clumsy and non engaging, to the point we asked for one waiter to keep coming back. The food was good, but for the price it was not outstanding and again there was to long between courses, we enjoy taking our time but 30 minutes between a tasting menu course is too long. And finally the wine flight, i understand the glasses on this option are not going to be huge but i would be surprised if they were over 95ml each, not great value. Some dishes were excellent ( the scallop, and the amuse bouche ) but for me for 160 pounds per head for the food and wine was not justified with what we received. Would definitely go back for the hotel, but would not go back to the Burlington
Delightful setting and a delicious Afternoon Tea. Service was great, however we were served with the wrong hot drinks but this was very soon put right. A truly traditional English delight. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
We had the tasting menu on both nights of our stay and were delighted by the variety and excellence of the dishes on both occasions. The team were notified in advance of my partner's inability to eat certain foods and the kitchen provided some very intersting and tastefully inventive alternatives. The atmoshere was relaxed and we were able to enjoy the dishes over a very relaxed three hour period. We cannot praise all the staff enough for thorough professionalism.
A charming and idyllic setting, warm welcome, unrushed enjoyment of fine fare served with friendly professionalism - all ingredients of a Good Afternoon Tea!
After a good walk around Bolton Abbey it’s a fantastic way to finish your walk with afternoon tea . We sat in the dog room in front of an open fire so cosy, service was excellent and so was the food . An excellent way to spend a winter afternoon .
The gentleman waiter who serviced us afternoon tea was friendly and gave professional service. All other staff we came into contact with were polite and friendly.
Super location, courteous staff and excellent service, afternoon tea brilliant. Tables from earlier sitting should have been cleared.
Limited choice in a all courses of the a la carte menu Only one fish dish on offer and when enquired about seabass from tasting menu "all gone". Ran out of dry ginger by 7.30pm ? No subs Noisy evening the night we ate in the conservatory Drink requests needed constant prompting
Fantastic afternoon tea in a beautiful setting. Absolutely loved it! Can’t wait for our next visit 👍
This was our first visit and won't be the last.
Fantastic as always!
We really enjoyed our experience at The Devonshire Arms. The afternoon tea was amazing. We felt very relaxed and the staff were very attentive and professional. We never felt rushed or that anything was too much trouble. We will definitely be back. Thankyou.
It was my Dad’s 70th Birthday and he really enjoyed it as did we all. Beautiful setting, fantastic food and amazing staff. Julie was the main person who served us and she was very attentive and very welcoming. We will definitely be back again for another visit. Thankyou
Wonderful stay again at the Devonshire for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year. Thank you
Lovely food. Great friendly service
Great night on our wedding anniversary
The maitre d' was lovely, he looked after us very well. The food was very good, but not all courses were equal, some more to my taste than others.
No real « wow « factor with the high tea. No fill ups on sandwiches as by other top restaurants. The background music was quite loud. The tea itself was quite plain. The table setting was also plain- no silver tongs for the sugar lumps. Lovely lady serving and very friendly. But the general impression was average and expensive for what it was.
Amazing experience with first class service, outstanding.
I felt the table arrangements, all in one close line, were not conducive to a pleasant atmosphere. The service was good, the food was good but it felt like being processed, rather than the event we anticipated.
What an amazing dinning experience we had for a birthday celebration. We had the 9 course taster menu and thoroughly enjoyed every dish, they where mouth wateringly Devine, the wine selection was astonishing, never seen a collection like it. So very memorable and a must for any occasion.
our third time there. Excellent food and great service all the time
Food was outstanding. 9 course tasting menu delivered Michelin Star quality food. The service does need some work however. Wines were not poured, jus dripped on clothing from the jug without staff noticing, cutlery missing from table. You won't manage the Star which you deserve without addressing these front of house issues.
We enjoyed the 9 course tasting menu and every dish was delicious. We will definitely be back
