About The Dabbling Duck
The Dabbling Duck pub was opened in 2006 as the result of a tireless community action group and a far-sighted local authority's 6 year campaign to prevent the beautiful old building (previously the Rose and Crown pub) from being converted into housing.
The Dabbling Duck now plays a vital part in the heart of the local community and is a focal point for the village. The owners regularly eat and drink at the pub with their friends and colleagues.
Afternoon Tea is served daily 15.00 - 17.00
Always great food and drink we never go home disappointed !
Slow service. average food. burgers very very dry, over cooked
Our favourite place to eat and drink in Norfolk, never disappoints....
Service was shocking. Every time we required anything we had to flag down or hunt for a member of staff. The food service was painfully slow to the extent the party was very irratible. When the food arrived it was very good but 2 hours after being seated it should have been. One member of the party ordered and over an hour later was told they had run out and had to choose something else. Empty plates sat at the table for over half an hour When we asked for the bill we waited and waited for someone to come and take payment only to then flag someone down who said oh you have to pay on card at the bar. It was a 30th birthday and we felt it wasn’t the experience we hoped for and left disappointed.
I struggled to find a main course as I don’t eat meat and the only fish was battered, not my idea of a Sunday lunch. When I originally looked at menus on line a mushroom risotto was listed but this was not available. The rest of my family enjoyed their roasts etc and the children loved the giant Malteser!
Fab dinner, steak was amazing! Will definitely be back. Shame there was a really loud group behind us as we were there for a romantic 'date night' and could hardly hear each other! Staff and food were great :)
Absolutely gorgeous food and the atmosphere is warm, friendly and cosy. Loved our first visit will definately be returning.
Great place to eat. Will definitely come back when in Norfolk again.
Lovely meal our second time of visiting will definitely come again
Excellent lunch - we will be seeing you again.
Food was great. Three generations around the table and all thought it was very good. Service was very good. Rump steaks were cooked as ordered and very tender for the cut. Seems like a good all round pub offering.
The chilli beef starter was one of the best starters I have ever had.
1st visit for us and it was the best steak we have tasted in a long time! Just delicious and great service by your waitresses! Will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed the afternoon tea, the sandwiches were really nice, good flavour combinations. The service was good. I was able to call and add an extra person really easily. Impressed!
This is a fantastic pub which we used for a post wedding meal with 40 of our closest friends. We had the back room to ourselves and the space the food and the staff were excellent!
Please see TripAdvisor review. Very disappointed
The food, as always, was wonderful. However, service was exceptionally slow. There was an hour wait between each course, which made things difficult for us as we had small children to keep busy. The interaction we had with any staff was very minimal, there was no apology for the waiting and I didn't find staff to be particularly helpful.
Amazing Sunday roast, great quality ingredient cooked perfectly, soooooooo good.
Birthday lunch and thoroughly delightful. service good but it was a bit slacking in atmosphere.
1. Not offered drinks once sat down. 2. had to ask for a menu 3. 4 main meals arrived. The other one arrived 5 minutes later. 4. Puddings arrived for 3 in our group but tea arrived afterwards for the other two. It was busy so either they didn't have enough staff on or they were out of their depth.
I would not recommend going here if you have food intolerance or special dietary needs, we were definitively made to feel like a massive inconvenience by the manager. My steak was beautiful and the "salad" was unusual but very delicious. If you are a regular you definitely get the better treatment but unfortunately the way we were treated does not encourage us to want to become regulars. Shame as it is such a lovely pub.
Great place for a few days of rest and relaxation. Our food was very good and the atmosphere was excellent. We shall return
What a great pub! Extensive selection of Ales and Gin. Pigeon starter was fab, so were the lamb and steak main courses. Friendly and efficient staff - we shall return.
Fantastic food & great atmosphere but slow & confused service Our group of six were seated with dessert menus rather than the main ones, we had to go to the bar to ask for wine lists, to order drinks, to order our food, to ask for coffees and to pay. It felt like we were constantly having to chase after the staff.
Excellent dining room spaces, plenty of room between tables. Very attentive staff and superb value for money.
