We had a sumptuous afternoon tea in wonderful surroundings served by polite friendly staff We will certainly be returning in the near future
We found the whole experience lovely. The surroundings, both inside and out, relaxing, smart and homely. Our waiter was friendly, informative and helpful. We both look forward to a return visit.
I took my grandmother for afternoon tea and it was just fabulous! We really couldn't fault it and we will definitely be returning! Thankyou for such a lovely treat.
I have eaten in some amazing restaurants and this has been added to that list. A beautiful experience with stunning flavoursome food. One of the best tasting menus I have had!
Everything was excellent with regards to quality and service of food and drink. However, there was a rude, loud and obnoxious customer on the table next to us. It was clear that his behaviour was affecting all of the diners yet apart from on one occasion his behaviour was not addressed. In fact, as he was spending a lot of money, and his behaviour was being tolerated with an awkward smile. This should have been addressed and the thoughts of the majority should not be put over the very high spending one. I fully appreciate the job you have is difficult but part of that is dealing with the people like this appropriately.
MY HUSBAND AND I SPENT A DELIGHTFUL AFTERNOON AT WHATLEY MANOR. THE AFTERNOON TEA WAS MOST ENJOYABLE AND WE WERE LOOKED AFTER BY YOUR DELIGHTFUL STAFF. FOLLOWED BY A WALK AROUND THE BEAUTIFULLY MANICURED GARDENS THIS MADE FOR A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. AN IDEAL GIFT FROM FRIENDS. THANK YOU.
It was our first visit to Whatley Manor for afternoon tea and it was altogether an excellent experience - a warm welcome, delicious food well presented good service without being intrusive. We will certainly come again and if the weather is better explore the grounds. Thank you
The tea was delicious but far too much for two people. Would like to see 2 less sweet dish and 1 more savoury.
A thoughtfully constructed menu and we enjoyed the Asian flavours in a couple of them. The wine list was excellent and the staff friendly - it was a nice touch having the manager pop around to greet everyone during the meal and the chefs.
eveything was perfect!
Wonderful experience having afternoon tea for my birthday, had a very memorable time. 1st class service, total attention to detail and excellent food.
Thank you - A splendid afternoon tea to celebrate the birthday of a friend
Most of the courses were excellent. The bread and better was amazing.
After bringing my friend for an afternoon celebration tea, I would like to thank the Manager for exquisite service and attention, and the chef for the delightful tea. Look forward to next time!
Excellent service as usual
We came for afternoon tea yesterday. It was lovely and the food was very good, although being a baker myself and given the cost I was expecting something a bit more. The sandwiches were a little boring. The merengue was delicious. The raspberry cheesecake was tasty, but the base didn't hold together and dropped off my fork as I was lifting to my plate :( The sausage roll was super super yummy! The plain scone was dry but fruit was very good. We would have liked to been asked where we would have liked to sit, we were told we were in the sitting room (I think?) If we had paid £15 pp in a local coffee shop we would have been over the moon, but we did have bigger expectations from whatley manor (having stayed here twice before too!)
Fantastic food! Service was good however on 3 occasions both myself and partner had empty wine glasses and we had to move the glasses to obvious positions to get these filled up. Additionally, we had a strict taxi pick up time and told the person who met us at the hotel this. This appeared to be forgotten by the end of the night as it was a rush to get the bill paid and to finish the wine which had to be prompted to be poured!
A wonderful experience especially as it was a birthday treat, and would definitely go back 😊
The cakes were a delight to look at and truly wonderful flavours. Savouries equally enjoyable with the nicest sausage roll I've tasted for a long time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a delightful experience.
Delicious afternoon tea with my daughter.
A beautiful venue, very welcoming and relaxing. Staff were 100%
Excellent overall although the sandwiches didn't appear as if they had just been cut for our consumption and having visited other 5 star hotels we were a little surprised to still have crust on some of the sandwiches. Having said that this certainly didn't spoil the occasion.
A beautiful location and stunning grounds. The staff were extremely attentive and courteous. The afternoon tea we had was delicious. Highly recommend Whatley Manor.
Terrific menu. Exciting and interesting, and incredibly tasty! Congrats to Niall and his team. Love the care with which everything is prepared and the enthusiasm with which it is presented.
