About The Empire Room
Part of the fabulous Royal Harbour Hotel, the 40 cover Empire Room restaurant serves local seasonal food and drink in a club setting 5 days a week. We source direct from Ramsgate's fishing boats as well as local suppliers of meat, vegetables, fruit and drinks. We are proud to be a member of 'Produced in Kent'.
With set priced menus for lunch and mid week dining plus our main a la carte dinner menu, we have options to meet all our guests requirements.
Regularly referred to as a "hidden gem" our menus are influenced by local seasonal ingredients but can have the flavours of India, Africa and Europe.
We serve lunch & dinner in our lower ground floor restaurant, courtyard garden (in warmer weather, and by pre-reservation only) or in our smaller sea view ground floor hotel dining room where we can cater for those with mobility issues, as we do not have a lift to the lower ground floor.
Only in advance do we consider corkage if you wish to bring your own wine. Charges start from £12.00 per bottle for wine and £15.00 per bottle for champagne. Similarly if you wish to bring a celebration cake and eat it at the table we would need notice in advance. Charges are from £1.50 per person depending on numbers involved.
Food was amazing! Must mention the waitress who was running the whole dinner service on her own and did a fantastic job making sure everyone was looked after! The girl deserves a bonus or a pay rise! We’ll definitely be back!
EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY WONDERFUL MEAL
The basement room is quite without any ventilation and is therefore in warm summer evenings quite unbearably stuffy. Not conducive to a calm enjoyable evening and not very fair on the superb waitresses who are obliged to wear two layers and tights. Also we might have been unlucky but our next door table entertained us for an hour with a combination of Effing and blinding, F this, F that and an unhealthy amount of swearing which, call me old-fashioned, isn't common to most decent restaurants.
Great place, food and service. Would recommend and definitely return
An absolutely wonderful evening here. Attentive and friendly service with beautiful decor. Food was fantastic, so beautifully presented and large portions too! I can’t recommend the atmosphere highly enough! I loved it and can’t wait to return.
We had a Sunday Lunch menu - the beef was done to perfection , the gravy very tasty & the cauliflower cheese rich & indulgent - will definitely be going again
Very good lunch service! The team were fantastic and made us a very lovely table for us out in the pretty garden. The set menu was super and the service was faultless. Many thanks!
booked on a Wednesday evening to enjoy the the three courses fir £24. Looked online and had chosen the chicken and chorizo. On the night there was no chicken, not only that another couple ordered the mussels but there were no mussels either !!! So will not be recommending. Plenty of other restaurants. We stayed and ordered off the main menu, but just a main course. The other couple that wanted mussels walked out. ! We will not be returning
Food was outstanding, service was excellent. A little hidden jem
Fantastic meal. Our favourite restaurant in Thanet 😋
We always have one meal in The Empire Room, during our stay. Food is exceptional with fresh ingredients and imagination. The venue has a calming and special atmosphere.
Missed the poached eggs on muffins and pancetta starter
We have been to the Empire rooms four or five times before and always had a lovely meal. We had a 230 reservation on Father’s Day when we arrived It was very busy which I understand and we will take it upstairs to sit and order our drinks. After about 25 minutes we were taken downstairs to the restaurant which was now quite empty only a few tables Were occupied so we ordered our food the starters were lovely but when it came to the main meal we had quite a long wait the roast potatoes were very overcooked as we are Yorkshire puddings The service was very slow and we had quite a wait for two desserts that were ordered . After paying the bill we regret paying the service charge which was £28 a very disappointing visit this time
Had a lovely meal with my family , the waiting staff were all very pleasant an nothing was to much trouble. Food was excellent
I was so impressed with the hotel and restaurant. It was recommended to be by someone who lives locally and I’m so pleased we came. I will happy be recommending to family and friend and looking forward to coming again soon.
Great food,great service
Have been to the Empire Rooms twice this week On the Sunday was one group with a self opinionated person that was close to us who was annoying. On Wednesday it was fine. Appreciate that is difficult to deal with. Lady serving was was very efficient with a lovely attitude
Très bel établissement. Service de qualité.
Fantastic set lunch menu.
Excellent food and service always we love it here
3rd time at the empire rooms, as before food was great. Very tasty and all of our group enjoyed it. Will be going back...
Had an amazing meal for my birthday. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff will definitely be going back xx
Always lovely food here - do a great Sunday roast. Attracts a mainly older crowd when I’ve been but thoroughly enjoyable and kid friendly.
Thank you for a delicious meal with brilliant friendly service. We really enjoyed celebrating our special day here. Many thanks
