About The Lounge - The Runnymede
The Lounge is the social hub of The Runnymede, with a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere and plenty of quiet corners for a discreet chat. Comfy seating, all-day dining menus and floor-to-ceiling views of the river provide the perfect ambience for informal meetings or simply catching up with friends. The Lounge is open from morning to night for you to enjoy the space at your leisure, from an early coffee and croissant to a light lunch or spot of afternoon tea and a chilled drink from our gin bar in the evening.
The service was appalling. Our tea was not ordered so it didn’t arrive until 45 mins after we had received our food. This also happened to the table next to us. There was only one waitress who was very flustered at he time.
I booked this for my mum's surprise birthday treat yesterday and it was really lovely. We have told so many friends and family to book with you now.
was absolutely lovely will defenitally be going again
This is the 3rd time my friend and I have been for tea in the last few months, which speaks for itself, I can't fault it, excellent tea, very pleasant staff and very good value for money. We will be returning in the future.
Excellent staff and beautiful scenery looking on to the flowing river!
Staff very friendly, afternoon tea was excellent. I would recommend this to everyone.
A very enjoyable experience
It was our third Afternoon Tea this year, very good value for money. There was a nice assortment of sandwiches, all lovely and fresh, the cakes were also very nice. And once again our server Kieran was very helpful, attentive and friendly. We will be back again next week!!
Delicious afternoon tea. Waitress was extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
Overall very good, excellent service throughout, might consider when sporting games are on the television not putting afternoon tea guests by the side, very considerate guests but non the less slightly spoilt the atmosphere as we had an elderly guest with us (88) who wasn't sure what was happening!
Celebrated my 60th birthday with a group of friends and family, were made very welcome with a private area on arrival where we could drink our Prosecco before lunch. Had opted for a late lunch but food was still plentiful and delicious. Lots of choice for everyone. Waiting staff very helpful and smiling, happy to help. Lovely setting, table overlooking the river, friends had not been before but all very impressed with everything. Only complaint would be the state of the seat cushions, they were very stained and would have been better without them. Otherwise a very memorable occasion, thank you!
I really enjoyed the experience and the service
A relaxed enjoyable afternoon tea with delicious cakes and attentive service made even better by 2 for the price of 1
Lovely afternoon tea young lad that served us was lovely and really friendly food was really good value for money only issue was the limited choices on the tea only 2 options which was a shame
Great service from Mina (excellent waitress and chatty, polite friendliness) and Kieran who both looked after us. The cream tea was amazing - really good value for money (£28 for two with a glass of champagne!) and a very special birthday treat. The chocolate 'Happy Birthday' mousse was a really nice touch. The only criticism we had was that it was a bit noisy in the lounge area with only a curtain partition to the business lounge - where laptops and work colleagues were discussing etc so there was a constant talking noise. Would be nice to have a live pianist and a more effective partition! Overall, a wonderful birthday treat and fantastic spread of food! We were even able to take away what we didn't eat! Glad we spotted the special offer - we are recommending you to friends!
We really enjoyed our afternoon tea. The only slight disappointment was the sandwiches were slightly dry as if they had been sitting around for a while. Other than that it was very good.
Great value for money!
Very enjoyable tea, comfy chairs, excellent food, good service and bonus of champagne. Will be booking again!
Wonderful afternoon tea, lovely setting, really enjoyed it all. All the food was amazing. The service was to an extremely high standard. Will be returning and have recommended to friends.
service a little bit slow but staffs was very helpful and very friendly
With a party of 12, we were looked after very well.
Service from making booking with Rob, our arrival , directed by lady at podium, friendly , professional and informative, shown to our seats , excellent introduction by waitresses , afternoon tea explained and any dietary needs catered for, afternoon tea was delicious and plentiful, hot drinks were tasty , waiter Kieran was again excellent and the ladies who first brought the sandwiches etc whose names I did not read but were also top class. A very enjoyable afternoon experiencing the falling snow through the panorama windows in the warmth of your pleasing surroundings
Enjoy the atmosphere and staff very friendly. Sure to visit again soon.
Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our Champagne Afternoon Tea, sandwiches were very fresh, with nice fillings, plus an array of lovely cakes. Our server Keiron was very attentive and helpful.
Kieron was outstanding in his service to us. Nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately some of the sandwiches were a little dry round the edges. That was a shame. Classical music might of been nice as background in that environment. Hot scones always a bonus and a nice touch. All of this is constructive and doesn’t deflect from a fantastic time. Well done
