32oz Tomahawk cooked to perfection
The meal and service was excellent. I would re com end it to anyone. Can't wait to go again
the only comment is: when guests are arriving they stand around the reception area and block the way the the toilets, everything esle Great W e will be back in the next couple of weeks.
Food was excellent
This is our second visit, our first occasion was better the atmosphere was practically non existent and the food wasn’t as good as the time prior. Very disappointing.
Jean and Michael were absolutely amazing!! This was a meal for my mums birthday and they made it very special!! Thank you :)
Everything was perfect
Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Food tasty. Can’t think of a single issue! Well done to all.
Excellent service and food as always, thank you.
Meal was nice. Food service was great. Bar service was a little bit slow. Bearing in mind it was Mother’s Day and the wife chose the location. A little bit pricey for what you got
Very poor experience. Arrived for mother’s day afternoon tea and were told to go the conservatory. We were then told to wait before we were out on a tiny table at the end of the bar. This table was not reserved nor was it set for afternoon tea like the others. The chairs were stained and we felt like we were shoved in a corridor and forgotten about. We requested to be moved, which we were, but were not given a menu for food or drinks. I accept the food is not optional but when it came we had to ask what was what as we didn’t know and weren’t told. Service was sloppy and difficult to get anyone’s attention all the way through. Then to finish off we asked for the bil, which was handed over, and then were left to sit for ages despite the card being visible on the table. We were not told we had to go back to the conservatory to pay until we asked for someone to take payment. £40 for afternoon tea for two and one glass of prosecco is severely overpriced for the food that was provided - not even two of everything so we had to either choose or share. The service was very poor, so was the toilet. Very disappointed as have been a regular visitor of the spa for numerous years but the whole experience has put me off.
Very disappointed that there was no turnip with our food yesterday and the desserts were a little disappointing. Jean, Michael and the team were very attentive though, as always, and make the visit that little bit more!
My wife ordered posh fish and chips this is Halibut which I know is an amzing fish and when cooked correctly is lovely juicy and tender however this was dry as sticks, I can honestly say probably worst fish I have tasted. It seemd as if it had been either really over cooked or left under a heat lamp to stay warm and this had dried it out Myself I ordered the rack of lamb cooked medium this was ok again a little dry but eatable.
Came for early mother’s day afternoon tea was lovely only suggestion more sandwiches sat with beautiful views and the atmosphere was lovely
Really enjoyed the food, starters and mains both amazing. Staff friendly and attentive. My mam was given a birthday dessert plate too which was a lovely surprise. We'll definitely be back
overall was a great experience only let down by two food issues. three of the starters all ribs) were served stone cold. they were re-prepared and served, however this took about 15 minutes, by which time the other 6 in our party had finished their starter course. one main (8 oz fillet) was actually two pieces of thin steak - both cooked both sides and stacked on top of each other to look like one steak. not the same taste/texture and only estimate 4/5 oz in total. disappointing at £28??. other than that everything was fine. just a little niggle for a (just short of) £500 meal for a special occasion. we may return however as the atmosphere and service was 100%. thankyou.
Fabulous staff went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our experience. Best steak I’ve ever had!
Had lunch in the rib room this week with two friends. We had been looking forward to this as it was highly recommended to us. We were very disappointed indeed. For starters one person had the smoked salmon tartare which was lovely. myself and the other person had the scallops. The scallops tasted lovely however, the black pudding bhaji was very greasy and not crisp, the caulilower puree was so bland and the curry oil was tasteless. For mains, one person had the sea bass and cous cous which was very nice indeed. Myself and the other guest had the pan roasted halibut with creamed potatoes, pea and pancetta fricasse. One of the halibuts was cooked to perfection, the other slightly undercooked. The creamed potato had far too much oil in it and the pea and pancetta fricasse was far too salty! We informed the waiter who said he would speak to the chef and request new plates of halibut. He apologised and said there would be a 12 minute wait. When he brought the plates back, one halibut was overdone and the other one was ok, however, the potatoes and fricasse were still the same - far too salty! I ate mine because I was hungry but had the taste of salt for several hours afterwards. My friend ate her halibut but left everything else!. Very disappointed indeed, especially at a cost of £100 for this food and one bottle of wine! Would not recommend the food.
Food n service was good
Usually very good but this time we waited an hour for our food which was burnt with under cooked chips
