About The White Horse Brasserie
Situated at the heart of the historic market town of Romsey, The White Horse Hotel has been a coaching Inn for over 600 years. We offer all that you would expect from a casual drink, or maybe dinner in our restaurant or stay over with Bed and Breakfast, whatever you requirements we will be pleased to help.
Following three years of restoration work the hotel reopened in 2008 and now offers guests 31 individually designed bedrooms and suites with 24 hour room service, an award winning brasserie and the perfect place to host private events.
Afternoon Tea is served daily, at two sittings: 12.00 & 15.30
We have been dining with you for several years, I would say on the basis of our last visit, standards are at an all time high, the service and food was excellent.!!
Locally sourced food full of flavour. Attentive, friendly and well informed staff. Calm, romantic and ambient surroundings. Highly recommend this dining experience!
Food was lovely, service friendly. However, the lack of catering to the rapidly growing alcohol free market was very disappointing. Pregnant, driving, or just don't want to drink anymore.... and there's a token Becks blue. There are literally thousands of fantastic alcohol free products available. Please get with the trend....
Absolutely perfect experience only lost a star on the atmosphere category as some soft background music would, in our opinion, have enhanced our experience. Big thank you to all of the staff as the food & service could not be faulted. Will make a return visit in the near future
Highly Recommended , excellent food and service and fabulous staff 😊
Steak cooked perfectly Bar staff attentive and helpful with whisky
Food choices much improved on last few visits. Like the idea to choose your own side dish. We all had the hake excellent taste/quality. Desserts wonderful especially soufflé! We will be back in April. Please keep new style menu. Staff very friendly and sociable. Thank you from 3 very happy ladies who lunch at the White Horse every 3-4 months.
Excellent meal...the beef was perfect, the service very good, however for some reason the vanilla ice cream tasted powdery as it had on our last visit!!
Brilliant afternoon tea!! I usually hate macaroons but the ones we had were AMAZING!! My favourite though was the lemon cheesecake it was to die for!!! Such a lovely setting too!
Excellent food and service. Music a bit loud and food a bit pricey.
Great food although a wee bit limited for choice. Excellent service and a nice ambience to the bar and restaurant. One of the few decent places to visit in Romsey. The town always feels vaguely empty to me and I don't think the powers that be promote it in the way it deserves somehow.
The service was friendly and professional
Food delicious served beautifully will be coming back soon
Didn’t expect service charge as you would expect great service with afternoon tea anyway
SUPERB IN EVERY WAY. CORKAGE AT £13.50 EXCELLENT VALUE BEEF WAS GREAT AS USUAL HAVE RECOMMENDED LOTS OF FRIENDS WHO REALLY LIKED THE WHITE HORSE HOPE TO RETURN AGAIN SOON HAPPY XMAS TO ALL THE HAPPY STAFF ALLAN GRANT AND FAMILY
We enjoyed a super Christmas lunch. The service was perfect and roast beef superb.
Just in for a quick fish & chip lunch, great quality, triple cooked chips to die for 5 star service Thank you
We stayed here just for one night's bed and breakfast and also enjoyed a nice dinner in the evening. Our room (no: 204) was not especially spacious, but clean, quiet and comfortable with well planned bathroom. The staff were friendly and the food excellent although breakfast just slightly disappointing (smashed avocado on sourdough with poached egg would have been better had avocado been riper, but our grouses were minor). Pricing not especially cheap, but generally fair. All added up to an excellent place to stay - ideal for exploring the lovely old town of Romsey. The hotel doesn't have its own carpark, but there's a public carpark only a minute or two away.
Very slow & poor service
I can’t praise the staff enough. The afternoon tea was delicious and WOW factor for presentation.
Food good, good service - a pleasurable experience. will certainly come again
Service is normally excellent but we had afternoon tea and we had sandwiches but they forgot our cakes. Everyone had cakes apart from us. I asked and they said there coming but they had forgot. I know the service is normally better than that
Afternoon tea was excellent - we all absolutely loved the mince pie cheesecake! Will definitely recommend to everyone we know :)
Excellent afternoon tea!
